    Abstract: The present invention relates to a disinfection passageway with an alerting system. The passageway includes: a first sidewall; a second sidewall; and a top cover extending between the first sidewall and the second sidewall. The passageway also has a storage tank attached to the outer surface of the first sidewall. The storage tank stores sanitizing liquid for dispensing through a plurality of nozzles on the inner surface of at least one sidewall. A temperature sensor is also attached to the passageway, wherein the temperature sensor is adapted for measuring a body temperature of a user. Finally, a hand sanitizer dispenser on the inner surface of at least one side wall adapted for dispensing hand sanitizer.

    Abstract: A meta-material vibration energy harvester includes a housing element encapsulating a multiplicity of oscillators capable of harvesting a significant percentage of the total mechanical energy diffusely distributed throughout the vibrating structure, the harvester design resulting in a rapid transfer of mechanical energy entering it via the housing element from the element to the oscillators wherein the energy remains trapped while accumulating over an extended time, the percentage of energy transfer primarily depending on the ratios of the sum of the oscillator masses to the sum of the housing mass and of the measure of the mass of the vibrating structure and of the width of the band spanned by the oscillators to its center frequency, both the relevant measure of the vibrating structure mass and the values of the mass and frequency ratios that maximize the percentage of internal energy transfer depending on the harvesting scenerio.

    Abstract: The invention relates to systems to manage parking meters using mechanical, electrical and electromechanicals monitoring and transmitting devices. Such intelligent parking meters may be used for example to monitor pollution by idling vehicles, survey the area about the meters to identify events such as vandalism, accident or any other designated emergency situation, and to monitor volume and flow of traffic to help coordinate traffic light sequencing for facilitating optimum traffic movement. The meters may be coin, bill or card operated and are useful for monitoring individual parking spaces designed to monitor conditions ambient to the parking meter and issue summons to vehicles violating the preset requirements.
