    摘要: A downhole abrading tool has a body with a first end for connection to a drill string, a cutting end, a drilling fluid passageway, and a fusible material disposed within the body. The fusible material is capable of igniting and combusting in response to a selected temperature increase due to excessive wear on the cutting end. Combustion of the fusible material provides an indication to an operator of the downhole abrading tool of the excessive wear on the cutting end of the downhole abrading tool so that the downhole abrading tool can be removed from the well and replaced. The indication to the operator of the downhole abrading tool can be a temperature change or a pressure change in a drilling fluid flowing through the drilling fluid passageway.

    摘要: Software-Defined Networking (“SDN”) enables flexible flow control by caching policy rules at OpenFlow switches. Compared with exact-match rule caching, wildcard rule caching can better preserve the flow table space at switches. However, one of the challenges for wildcard rule caching is the dependency between rules, which is generated by caching wildcard rules overlapped in field space with different priorities. Failure to handle the rule dependency may lead to wrong matching decisions for newly arrived flows, or may introduce high storage overhead in flow table memory. A wildcard rule caching system, which may be used for SDN partitions the field space into logical structures called buckets, and caches buckets along with all the associated wildcard rules. Doing so resolves rule dependency while using control network bandwidth efficiently. Further, controller processing load and flow setup latency are reduced.

    摘要: A flexible touch-based scrolling system receives user input comprising a gesture on a touchscreen. The system compares the gesture velocity with one or more velocity ranges. For example, the system determines whether the gesture velocity is above a threshold velocity or below a threshold velocity. The system selects between different types of movement (e.g., smooth scrolling movement, page-by-page movement) of the visual information in the user interface, based on the comparison of the gesture velocity with the velocity ranges. For example, the system selects smooth scrolling movement if the gesture velocity is below a threshold velocity, and the system selects page-by-page movement if the gesture velocity is above the threshold velocity.

    摘要: A fracturing operation is done in open hole without annular space isolation. The annular space is spanned by extendable members that are located behind isolation valves. The extendable members can comprise a biodegradable plug that allows extension of the extendable members by application of pressure. With the plug remained in place, additional pressure can be delivered until at least a portion of the degradable material is pushed onto the surface of the formation. At least a portion of the pushed degradable material provides a seal between the end of the extendable members and the surface of the formation to allow pressure to build until the formation frac gradient is exceeded and the formation is fraced.
