Abstract:
A method of operating a self-service checkout terminal located in a checkout area of a retail store includes the step of generating a payment-tendered control signal when a user of the self-service checkout terminal tenders payment for a number of items for purchase. The method also includes the step of detecting movement of the user on a movement detection floor mat and generating a walk-away control signal if the user exits the checkout area of the retail store. Moreover, the method includes the step of generating a personnel-request control signal if the walk-away control signal is generated prior to generation of the payment-tendered control signal. A self-service checkout terminal is also disclosed.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer software, for interactive digital media service is presented. A content provider streams secondary content, such as images, chatroom discussions, offers for sale, promotions, advertisements, contests, or surveys, along with primary media content, such as radio or television programs, to multiple consumer devices. The consumer can interact with the content provider by sending messages in real time, and the content provider can edit or modify the primary media content or secondary content based on the received messages. The consumer can also order commercial transactions, such as buy products offered for sale, download digital content, songs, ringtones, and screensavers. An operator of the system can manage and control the primary and secondary content and modify them in real time according to the consumer interaction. The content provider can also build a consumer data base based on the consumers' communications.
Abstract:
An interactive mobile messaging system (IMMS) for mobile telephone marketing and promotional campaigns integrates interactive voice response (IVR), SMS, fast analysis of shared multidimensional information, and online analytical processing. Online interactive message communication protocols are managed through mobile-originated, short code-based message platforms which are interfaced with an IVR query system. Automatic configuration of multiformat messages can be performed directly into multiple telecommunications carrier networks to all supported mobile handsets.
Abstract:
A portable, air powered drill has an automated feed system and an adjustable dwell for producing countersunk holes in a workpiece. The feed system uses hydraulic cylinders and pneumatic control logic to control the feed rate, and the dwell time of a countersink drill bit at the end of the drill stroke. A movable mechanical stop permits an operator user to adjust countersink depth. The control logic provides fully automatic feed of the drill bit, and adjustment of the dwell time to consistently produce identical countersunk holes in a variety of workpiece materials.
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to an automated manufacturing system and method for manufacturing photomasks wherein information provided by a customer at a remote location is interfaced, via a network, to a photomask manufacturer's computer system and automatically processes data for manufacturing a photomask and automatically formats and routes data to processing equipment. The present invention reduces the need for manual intervention, thereby avoiding costly delays and transcription errors associated therewith. The software of the present invention provides for automatic generation of data arrays, which can be used to process and monitor the status of a photomask during manufacture. Further, the software is capable of automatically modifying design data provided by a photomask user. Additionally, the software of the present invention includes an automatic messaging system which can notify users of the system, of status and errors in manufacture of photomasks. The present invention also includes a real time monitoring system capable of notifying users of the status and errors in the processing of the photomask during manufacture.
Abstract:
A reciprocating drive system that utilizes energy available from pressure changes in flowing fluid systems, said drive used for the injection of additives into pipelines. The reciprocating drive includes a hydraulic accumulator having a gas chamber connected to a gas pipeline to contain said gas, whereby variation in the elevated pressure of the pipeline is reflected in the pressure applied to an incompressible fluid in a hydraulic conduit. The drive is capable of recycling gas used to drive the system back into pipelines.
