摘要: An electrode plate of a storage battery includes a rectangular, conducting, porous base plate 12 and a paste 13 containing an active substance, spread over the surfaces of the base plate 12, and filled in the hollow spaces in the base plate by rolling so as to form layers attached to the surfaces of the base plate 12. When shaping the base plate 12, the corners C of the base plate 12 are rounded, and the edge of at least one of the sides S of the base plate 11 is rounded in cross section. Thus, burrs at the corners C and along the sides S are removed so that the exertion of excessive contact pressure on the corners C and the sides S of the base plate is prevented in the assembled state of the storage battery, whereby the occurrence of short circuit is also prevented.

摘要: In a method for evaluation of abrasion of a forming mold, abrasion amounts of divided pieces which are divided from a mold piece constituting a cavity are measured with the divided pieces removed or not removed from a forming mold body. A layer, a marking-off line or satin is formed on the surfaces of the divided pieces, which are observed visually every predetermined shot to judge a degree of abrasion of the respective divided pieces.

摘要: In a gas compressor-expander according to the invention, a partition wall 19 between a space 21 in the rear of a piston and a crank chamber 12 has a piston rod 22 slidably extending therethrough and a seal device 9 surrounding the piston rod 22. The seal device 9 comprises a first seal member 93 having a high sealing property against a flow from the crank chamber 12 toward the space 21, an intermediate chamber 91 provided in the vicinity of the first seal member 93 at one side thereof toward the space, a second seal member 95 disposed in the vicinity of the intermediate chamber 91 at one side thereof toward the space, and a communication channel 96 for holding the intermediate chamber 91 and the crank chamber 12 in communication with each other. This construction gives a prolonged life to the seal device and prevents impairment of the refrigeration capacity of the gas compressor-expander.

摘要: For each of a plurality of media that are to be simultaneously subjected to a data striping process, a management region is provided where data can be saved separately from an existing substitute sector. When some defect or trouble is found in any one of the media and there is no available substitute sector in that trouble-plagued medium, the data striping process can be carried on, without suspension, by using the management region for data writing purposes. Such arrangements can supplement the capacity of data areas of the substitute sector, which thus allows the data striping process to be appropriately carried on even when the capacity of the substitute sector has been used up. Further, by setting the management region for each of media within a same volume and storing common management information redundantly in the individual management regions, it is possible to avoid unstableness of the media management that would be encountered due to use of non-fixed, transportable media. Further, because the capacity of the management regions can be set as desired by a user, the user can readily know the thus-set capacity whenever necessary, and thus it is possible for the user to ascertain presence of any necessary empty area prior to the data write processing.

摘要: Tray supporting a recording medium is transferred horizontally to a designated destination component and stored in the destination component along with the recording medium. The tray has one end facing the destination component and this one end has a surface slanted with respect to a front wall surface of an entry/exit of the destination component. With the provision of such a slanted end surface, even when the tray being transferred comes into collision with the front wall, the tray is allowed to gradually slide along the wall surface into the destination component. As a consequence, the recording medium supported on the tray can be smoothly passed into the destination component.

摘要: A process for producing aliphatic polyester wherein a crystallized aliphatic polyester prepolymer formed from an aliphatic dihydric alcohol and an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid and having a weight-average molecular weight of 2,000 to 100,000 is caused to undergo solid-phase polymerization in the presence of a volatile catalyst to make an aliphatic polyester having a weight-average molecular weight of 50,000 to 1,000,000. This process is more efficient than any prior process calling for a complicated step for catalyst removal, since it enables the removal of the catalyst from the reaction system during and/or after solid-phase polymerization. The polyester is comparable in stability to any aliphatic polyester having any catalyst removed therefrom.
