摘要: A fuel delivery control apparatus for use with an internal combustion engine including an exhaust system having a catalytic converter containing catalysts operable at a temperature for purifying exhaust gases discharged through the exhaust system. A fuelcut control is performed to interrupt fuel delivery to the engine during engine deceleration. The fuelcut control is inhibited when the catalyst temperature exceeds a predetermined value.

摘要: A lean air/fuel ratio control device is provided for feeding the engine with a mixture of a desired lean air/fuel ratio for a given time from the time on which the engine is started. A stoichiometric air/fuel ratio control device is provided for feeding the engine with a mixture of a substantially stoichiometric air/fuel ratio once the given time passes. A temperature sensor is provided for sensing the temperature of cooling water of the engine at the time when the engine is just started. A control unit is provided for varying the given time in accordance with the temperature sensed by the temperature sensor. The given time may be varied in accordance with the activity of the oxygen sensor or the temperature of exhaust gas from the engine.

摘要: A catalytic converter includes a housing and a catalyst support disposed in the housing. The catalyst support includes a central electrode, a generally cylindrical honeycomb structure and a hollow cylindrical electrode disposing therein the honeycomb structure. The honeycomb structure includes first, second and third metal sheets which are spirally wound about the central electrode and corrugated in shape. The first metal sheet has an inner end electrically connected to the central electrode and an outer end electrically connected to the hollow cylindrical electrode. The radial distance between the central electrode and the second metal sheet is different from that between the central electrode and the third metal sheet. The third metal sheet is spaced away from an imaginary solid having a surface defined by imaginary straight lines extending from an axis of the central electrode in a radial direction and passing through a periphery of the second metal sheet.
