    Abstract: A connector pair comprises a connector and a mating connector. A movement of the connector to a first position along a first direction and a subsequent movement of the connector from the first position to a second position along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction completes a connection between the connector and the mating connector. The connector comprises a magnetic portion, and the mating connector comprises a mating magnetic portion. When the connector is located at the first position, the magnetic portion receives a force, which urges the connector to be moved toward the second position, from the mating magnetic portion. When the connector is located at the second position, the magnetic portion receives a force, which binds the connector at the second position, from the mating magnetic portion.

    Abstract: An electrical connector includes a plurality of contacts, each contact having a first contact point electrically connected to a wiring pattern of a first connection object at one end and a second contact point mounted and fixed onto a wiring pattern of a second connection object by soldering at the other end, and the plurality of contacts is arranged in accordance with a predetermined wiring pattern, and after the second contact is mounted and fixed onto the wiring pattern of the second connection object, portions other than the second contact point of each contact are not fixed and bound with respect to the second connection object.

    Abstract: A connector is mateable with a mating connector along a mating direction. The connector comprises a stationary housing, a movable housing and a cable member. The movable housing is movable relative to the stationary housing in a predetermined plane perpendicular to the mating direction. The cable member includes a contact, a terminal and a wire. The contact is held by the movable housing. The wire includes core wires which are helically twisted together. One of opposite ends of the wire is fixed to the contact, and a remaining one of the opposite ends of the wire is fixed to the terminal. The movable housing has a regulation portion. The contact has a regulated portion. The regulation portion regulates a rotation of the regulated portion in the predetermined plane.

    Abstract: A connector is to be fixed to a principal surface of a connection object and to be connected with a mating object. The connector comprises a plurality of contacts and a guide member. Each of the contacts has a first soldered portion, a first main portion and a first auxiliary portion. The first main portion has a contact portion. The guide member has a second soldered portion, a second main portion and second auxiliary portion. The second main portion has a guide portion which guides the mating object. When the first soldered portions and the second soldered portion are soldered to the principal surface, the contacts are arranged in a pitch direction while being separated from one another, and the guide member is separated from the contacts. The first auxiliary portion and the second auxiliary portion have cross-sections same as each other in a plane perpendicular to the pitch direction.

    Abstract: An optical module base is made up of a plurality of lead frames and a resin structure integrally molded with the lead frames and has an optical device mounting part and an optical waveguide mounting part which are formed in the resin structure. Each of the lead frames includes a connection part to which an optical device is to be mounted and electrically connected and a lead part which is continuous with the connection part. A portion of the thickness of the connection part is embedded in the resin structure and is positioned at the optical device mounting part. A sufficient strength of fixing a lead frame on a resin structure integrally molded with the lead frame can be ensured even if the sizes of the lead frames are miniaturized according to the sizes of electrodes of an optical device to be flip-chip bonded.

    Abstract: A solderable component comprises a body portion configured to be mounted on a board and an auxiliary portion extending from the body portion. The body portion has at least two solderable portions. The at least two solderable portions include two predetermined solderable portions. The auxiliary portion has one abutment portion and a coupling portion. The abutment portion and lower ends of the two predetermined solderable portions define a board-attachment plane which is an imaginary plane. The coupling portion couples the abutment portion and the body portion to each other. A boundary between the coupling portion and the body portion is apart from the abutment portion in a plane in parallel to the board-attachment plane. The coupling portion is separable from the body portion at the boundary between the coupling portion and the body portion.

    Abstract: A connector includes two insulators which hold contacts connected to lead wires and are arranged on two surfaces of a base end portion of a ceramic element, two spring components which have flat plate portions located on respective outer surfaces of the two insulators and spring portions supported by the flat plate portions, and a cylindrical sleeve. Each spring portion has an inclined surface which inclines in a movement direction in which the sleeve moves toward the spring components. Each spring portion is elastically deformed by the sleeve hanging over the spring portion. The two insulators hold the base end portion from two sides by being pushed by the flat plate portions in directions in which the two insulators are brought closer to each other. The contacts are pushed against the terminal electrodes.
