    摘要: In a backlight assembly and an LCD apparatus having the same, the backlight assembly includes a lamp that generates light and a light guiding plate. The light guiding plate includes a light incident surface, a light reflecting surface and a light exiting surface. The light generated from the lamp is incident into the light incident surface. The light reflecting surface is extended from a side of the light incident surface. The light reflecting surface has a prism pattern. The light exiting surface is extended from another side of the light incident surface. An angle formed between the light incident surface and the light exiting surface is smaller than about 90 degrees, and the light incident surface and the light reflecting surface face each other.

    摘要: A backlight assembly includes a lamp unit, a covering member, a panel guiding member and a lamp supporting member. The lamp unit has a first electrode and a second electrode disposed at a first side of the lamp unit and a curved portion disposed at a second side of the lamp unit that is opposite to the first side. The covering member covers at least one of a first region corresponding to the first and second electrodes and a second region corresponding to the curved portion. The panel guiding member is configured to support a display panel that displays images using light generated by the lamp unit. The lamp supporting member is configured to retain the lamp unit. Therefore, a number of inverters may be reduced, thereby lowering cost and time of manufacturing the backlight assembly. Furthermore, reliability of the backlight assembly may be enhanced.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display has a mold frame divided into several parts. The liquid crystal display device includes a display unit for displaying an image, a back light assembly having a light source for generating a light, a light guiding plate for guiding the light, and a light focusing portion for focusing the light, and a mold frame divided into a first frame and a second frame. The mold frame receives the display unit and the back light assembly. The first frame receives the light guiding plate and the light focusing portion and the second frame receives the light source. A reflection sheet is integrally formed at an inner surface of the second frame so as to perform the function of a lamp reflector. Accordingly, a lamp cover is not required so that the number of parts and the manufacturing cost are reduced. A lamp can be exchanged by simply separating the second frame from the mold frame, so the fault of the light source caused by the friction with other elements is reduced when exchanging the lamp.
