Abstract:
The subject invention provides a composition and a process for forming a flexible polyurethane foam sealing device having improved compression set properties at increased temperatures. The sealing device is formed without the use of chemical blowing agents. The composition includes an isocyanate component for reaction with a resin component comprising an isocyanate-reactive component having a functionality of least four and a hydroxyl number of less than 40, a graft dispersion, and a physical blowing agent. The most preferred physical blowing agent is HFC-245 fa or 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane.
Abstract:
An automated process (and system) for facilitating the creation of a frame based knowledge tree for use with a configuration system is provided. In accordance with a preferred embodiment, a database induction module interacts with a user interface and a vendor provided database containing product information in the form of database files. The user sets induction preferences via a graphical user interface, and the induction module accesses product information from the client database files and automatically generates a frame based product knowledge tree in light of the user's preferences, where the frame based product knowledge tree is intended for use with a configuration system for configuring certain desired products, services, or other assemblages.
Abstract:
The method and system involves encoding each data value into a binary format and writing values in reverse order by first writing the value data portion, starting at its end, and proceeding towards its beginning and noting a starting index, upon starting the step of writing and noting an ending index upon ending the step of writing. Encoding includes using a stack wherein data values are pushed on the stack and read off the stack using a first in last out procedure. The start of a structured data type (set or sequence), namely the first byte of the value is encoded and/or written last and the end of a structured data type is the last byte and is encoded and/or written first. The length of the data portion is determined based on the starting and ending index. The length is then encoded to form part of the encoding.
Abstract:
An assembly for testing an evaporative emission control system of an automotive vehicle which controls emission of volatile fuel vapors. The assembly is used to determine if a leak is present in a portion of the system which includes a vapor collection canister. The leak detection assembly incorporates a vacuum actuated canister vent control valve which seals the evaporative system so the leak detection test can be performed. A vacuum actuated pump which performs a leak detection test. An engine control unit initializes the pump by drawing air into a pump cavity and also closes the vent control valve. After the initialization period, the pump is activated to pressurize the evaporative emission control system. Once a control pressure is achieved, the cycle rate starts to drop off. If no leak exists in the system, the pump will eventually stop pumping. If there is a leak, the pump will continue to pump at a rate that will be representative of the flow characteristics of the size of the leak. After the test has been concluded, the vent control valve will unseal the system after the vacuum has been bled out through the orifice/check valve that has been holding the seal during the test.
Abstract:
A fluid actuated switch including a fluid responsive vane pivotally mounted within a fluid directing channel is provided. The vane oscillates a movable electrical contact between two spaced stationary electrical contacts opening a first electrical circuit and enclosing a second electrical circuit as it moves from one stationary contact to the other. An adjustable holding assembly is associated with the vane for holding the movable switch contact into engagement with the stationary contacts such that a predetermined fluid force is required to move the vane opening one of the circuits and closing the other of the circuits.
Abstract:
Mats of aligned fibers are formed by feeding a dispersion of fibers through an aligning nozzle onto the inner surface of a cylindrical permeable surface and rotating the surface sufficiently rapidly to remove the dispersion medium and maintain the fiber alignment on the surface.

An exercise machine can include a motivating and instructional user interface or display. The interface can include a virtual coach or other encouraging stimulus to provide key motivation for users of indoor exercise machines.
Abstract:
Acoustic monitoring is carried out using a fiber optic cable. Coherent Rayleigh noise generated by the transmission of a coherent beam of radiation through the fiber optic cable is detected, a phase of the coherent Rayleigh noise is measured and the measured phase is processed to identify an acoustic occurrence along the fiber optic cable. In certain aspects, an optical fiber serves as a distributed interferometer that may be used to monitor a conduit, wellbore or reservoir. The distributed interferometric monitoring provides for accurate detection of acoustic occurrences along the fiber optic cable and these acoustic occurrences may include fluid flow in a pipeline or wellbore, processes taking place in a wellbore or pipeline, fracturing, gravel packing, or production logging.
