摘要： A method for providing information of access point (AP) selection in a wireless local area network (WLAN) system is provided. The method includes: receiving from candidate APs the AP selection information comprising channel correlation information for other stations associated with the candidate APs; and selecting one AP from candidate APs according to the channel correlation information corresponding to the candidate APs. Accordingly, a gain of multi-user multiple input multiple output (MIMO) can be increased, and an AP suitable for a terminal can be selected.

The method includes: receiving a first group identifier (ID) management request message from a transmitter, wherein the group ID management request message includes information about at least one group ID which is intended to be allocated to the receiver for multi user-multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) transmission, and the information about the at least one group ID indicates each group ID and a spatial stream set position for the each group ID; transmitting a first group ID management response message to the transmitter, wherein the group ID management response message indicates admission or adjustment for allocation of the at least one group ID; and receiving at least one multi-user packet from the transmitter, wherein the multi-user packet is transmitted using MU-MIMO transmission.

For a method of an access point (AP) station to operate as a first type dependent station within a white space in a regulatory domain where a licensed device and an unlicensed device are permitted to operate together, the method comprising: transmitting a White Space Map (WSM) comprising a list of available channels and a list of maximum allowed transmission powers of the available channels within a beacon frame in every beacon transmission instances with a predetermined transmission interval, wherein the transmission of the WSM is for at least one second type dependent station; receiving, from an enabling station having an authority for a permission of an operation of the first type dependent station and the second type dependent station, an updated White Space Map (WSM); operating only within the available channels identified by the updated WSM; and transmitting the updated WSM in a next beacon transmission instance when the WSM is supposed to be transmitted within the beacon frame.

摘要： Methods and apparatuses for acquiring/providing available channel information using Generic Advertisement Service (GAS) protocol in a wireless local area network (WLAN) are disclosed. AP (Access Point) station has a capability to acquire information for available channels from a database using a specific protocol related to an operation within the White Space (e.g. Access Network Query Protocol (ANQP)). And, non-AP station can retrieve the information for available channels by transmitting a Generic Advertisement Service (GAS) initial request frame to the AP station, wherein the GAS initial request frame comprises an Advertisement Protocol Element whose element ID indicates the specific protocol, and receiving a GAS initial response frame comprising a White Space Map (WSM) the specific protocol. The WSM comprises one or more white space channel units, and each of the white space channel units comprises a channel number field indicating one of the available channels and a power constraint field indicating a maximum allowable power on the indicated channel.

The method includes transmitting, by an access point (AP), a traffic indication map (TIM) element that announces existence of buffered traffic, wherein the TIM element includes an association ID (AID) assigned to a buffered STA having the buffered traffic when the buffered station (STA) is associated with the AP; receiving, by the AP, a poll frame for requesting data frame transmission from a candidate STA, wherein the poll frame contains an AID of the candidate STA and a medium access control (MAC) address which is a unique identifying information of the candidate STA; and determining, by the AP, whether the candidate STA is the buffered STA on the basis of the AID and the MAC address of the candidate STA.
