摘要： A program creation/supply apparatus connects with a client apparatus via a communication network, and prompts the client apparatus to select one or items of content and enter desired additional information in correspondence with the selected items of content. Program file is created on the basis of content selection information and the additional information transmitted from the client apparatus. The thus-created program file is added to a database. When a user selects a desired program, the program file of the selected program and one or more items of content defining the program are read out from the database and supplied to the user via the communication network. Also, content created by the user can be received via the network and added to the database. The content added to the database can be selected for use in program file creation.

摘要： A method of manufacturing a piston using a swaging tool includes the step of positioning a portion of a first member and a portion of a second member of the piston within a first end of an opening formed through the swaging tool, such that a reduced diameter portion of the second member is substantially aligned with a first ring portion of the first member and an end portion of the second member contacts a second ring portion of the first member to create an annular space adjacent to the first ring portion and the reduced diameter portion. The method also includes the step of subsequently swaging the first ring portion by moving the first ring portion in a direction toward a second end of the swaging tool, such that a portion of the first ring portion is positioned within the annular space to fix the first member to the second member.

摘要： A sound control apparatus is provided in a portable terminal for sounding a music tone in association with operation of the portable terminal, which is controlled by a main CPU. In the sound control apparatus, a memory memorizes music information representing a music tone and configuration information associated to a timbre of the music tone. An information acquiring section acquires the music information and the configuration information from the memory. A tone generating section is configured by the acquired configuration information to create a timbre specified by the configuration information. The tone generating section operates according to the acquired music information to generate the music tone being represented by the music information and having the specified timbre. A dedicated CPU is provided separately from the main CPU for controlling the memory, the information acquiring section and the tone generating section.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a CPU (Central Processing Unit) for incrementing a mechanical counter in accordance with the count of an electronic counter. For example, when the count of the electronic counter exceeds zero or similar preselected value, the CPU starts incrementing the mechanical counter. Alternatively, after the count of the electronic counter has been restored to zero, the CPU may increment the mechanical counter at the same time as it increments the electronic counter. The two different counters are maintained coincident at all times by simple control.
