    摘要: In coding through adaptive quantization after transforming an image into frequency areas, such as JPEG, quantization step width control information and other information are efficiently coded. An input image is processed in a blocking circuit and a quantizer. A quantization step width is determined by multiplying a matrix of a basic quantization table by an SF value of a scaling factor calculating circuit. Quantized AC components are coded in an AC component coding circuit 51. Quantized DC components are converted into DC differences and further into group numbers and additional bits. SF values are also converted into SF value differences and further into group numbers and additional bits. The DC components and the group numbers of the SF values are converted into two-dimensional Huffman codes. The above described code elements are multiplexed and outputted.

    摘要: An image processing apparatus includes a reception unit, a determination unit, a handwriting separation unit, an image generation unit, an image recognition unit, and an output unit. The reception unit receives handwriting information. The determination unit determines whether first handwriting indicated by first handwriting information and second handwriting indicated by second handwriting information overlap each other on the basis of the handwriting information. The handwriting separation unit separates the first handwriting from the second handwriting by changing a first/second handwriting position in the first/second handwriting information when the determination unit has determined that the first and second handwriting overlap each other. The image generation unit generates an image from handwriting information obtained through the separation, and information regarding handwriting that has been determined not to overlap other handwriting. The image recognition unit recognizes the generated image. The output unit outputs the recognition result.

    摘要: An image processing system includes a frequency conversion section, a frequency component generation section, an enlarged image area generation section and an enlarged image generation section. The frequency conversion section converts neighboring areas of each area in question into plural frequency components. The areas in question and the neighboring areas of the areas in question are included in an input image. The frequency component generation section generates predetermined frequency components from the frequency components of each neighboring area. The enlarged image area generation section generates an enlarged image area for each area in question, using (i) an image region which contains each area in question and which has a predetermined size and (ii) the predetermined frequency components. The enlarged image generation section places the enlarged image areas to generate an enlarged image for the input image.
