Abstract:
An approach for presenting a web page to a client user via a web browser. As one example, a user preference specifying a notification setting may be received from the client user at the web browser. The notification setting may cause the web browser, upon retrieving a web page, to present one or more of a privacy notice or a legal notice to the client user. The particular way in which the privacy notice and the legal notice are presented to the client user may be varied based on the notification setting specified by the user preference.
Abstract:
An authoring application enables an administrative user to generate, validate, and deploy one or more privacy notices and legal notices in web pages that may be retrieved by a client user via a web browser. Two or more of the privacy notices generated by the authoring application may be deployed in a web page, and may be selectively presented to the client user via the web browser in accordance with the notification setting selected at the web browser. Two or more of the legal notices generated by the authoring application may be deployed in the web page or in a second web page. The legal notices may be selectively presented to the client user via the web browser in accordance with the notification setting.
Abstract:
The present invention provides method and apparatus for supporting a legacy application programming interface (API) set between a component and a color management system. The legacy API set supports both the new capabilities as well as the legacy capabilities. The color management system determines the format type for an object that is referenced by an API call. If the object is associated with a legacy format, the API call is processed by a legacy processing module. If the object is associated with an advanced format, the API call is processed by an advanced processing module. If a plurality of objects is associated with an API call with mixed formats, the color management system converts some of the objects so that the objects have a consistent format. A common structure supports an object that may have either a legacy format or an advanced format.
Abstract:
A media integration layer including an application programming interface (API) and an object model allows program code developers to interface in a consistent manner with a scene graph data structure in order to output graphics. Via the interfaces, program code adds child visuals to other visuals to build up a hierarchical scene graph, writes Instruction Lists such as geometry data, image data, animation data and other data for output, and may specify transform, clipping and opacity properties on visuals. The media integration layer and API enable programmers to accomplish composition effects within their applications in a straightforward manner, while leveraging the graphics processing unit in a manner that does not adversely impact normal application performance. A multiple-level system includes the ability to combine different media types (such as 2D, 3D, Video, Audio, text and imaging) and animate them smoothly and seamlessly.
Abstract:
This present invention provides a system and method for transforming a main image of a digital image, such as one stored in the Exchangeable Image File (“EXIF”) format, updating the metadata, including the thumbnail image, to correspond to the transformed main image. The transformed main image and updated metadata are stored together in a file using the EXIF format so that the transformed main image may be viewed using a digital camera or viewer software compatible with a properly formatted EXIF file.
Abstract:
Several embodiments of medical ultrasound handpieces are described each including a medical ultrasound transducer assembly. An embodiment of a medical ultrasound system is described, wherein the medical ultrasound system includes a medical ultrasound handpiece having a medical ultrasound transducer assembly and includes an ultrasonically-vibratable medical-treatment instrument which is attachable to a distal end of the transducer assembly. An embodiment of a medical ultrasound system is described, wherein the medical ultrasound system has a handpiece including a medical ultrasound transducer assembly and including a housing or housing component surrounding the transducer assembly. A method for tuning a medical ultrasound handpiece includes machining at least a distal non-threaded portion of an instrument-attachment stud of the transducer assembly to match a measured fundamental frequency to a desired fundamental frequency to within a predetermined limit. A method for making a medical ultrasound transducer assembly determines acceptable gains for gain stages of the transducer assembly.
Abstract:
Devices and methods for reducing a size of a lumen are provided. In one embodiment, a lumen reduction device is provided having an end effector with a trough formed therein for receiving tissue surrounding a lumen, and a plurality of fasteners configured to engage the tissue disposed within the trough. In use, the end effector can be actuated to deliver the fasteners to the tissue, and one or more sutures coupled to the fasteners can be used to pull the fasteners together and thereby cinch the tissue to reduce the size of a lumen.
Abstract:
A system and method for selectively setting gamut map model defaults in a color management system is disclosed for transforming colors from a first color space to a second color space. The method includes the steps of comprises determining the profile associated with the second color space from one of an ICC profile, a device model profile and a system default profile; associating a color appearance profile and a gamut mapping profile based on the profile; and selecting at least one of the color appearance and gamut mapping profiles based on the profile associated with the second color space.
Abstract:
An anchorable cannula adapted for positioning within an opening formed in tissue includes a cannula body having a proximal portion and distal portion. The proximal portion and the distal portion are linked by a circumferential ring positioned therebetween. The proximal portion includes a series of foldable arms extending upwardly from the circumferential ring and ending at a circumferential seal ring formed at a free end of the proximal portion. The distal portion includes a series of foldable arms extending downwardly from the circumferential ring and ending at a circumferential seal ring formed at a free end of the distal portion.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a system and method of securely providing extensible third-party plug-ins to user computers. The system enables third-parties to authenticate themselves to user computers before a user computer is allowed to load the plug-ins. The system also creates separate processes that are spawned from a main process in order to securely execute the third-party plug-ins. Security is further enhanced by assigning a privilege level to the separate process that is lower than the main process.
