    摘要: A method is described for the preparation of electrostatographic toner particles which involves the surface treatment of a pigment by depositing thereon a coating of an elastomeric thermoplastic polymer. The method involves preparing a polymer solution by dissolving an elastomeric thermoplastic polymer selected from the group consisting of linear styrene-isoprene-styrene triblock copolymers, linear styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene triblock copolymers, linear styrene-isoprene diblock copolymers and linear styrene-ethylene-propylene diblock copolymers in a first solvent capable of dissolving the polymer at ambient temperature; forming a pigment dispersion by mixing at ambient temperature a pigment, a first polymer material and a second solvent in which the elastomeric thermoplastic polymer is insoluble at ambient temperature; admixing the polymer solution with the pigment dispersion so resulting in the elastomeric thermoplastic polymer precipitating out upon the surface of the pigment; mixing the elastomeric thermoplastic polymer coated pigment dispersion thus formed with a solvent in which the elastomeric thermoplastic polymer is insoluble at ambient temperature and, optionally, a second polymer material and, optionally, a charge-control agent to form an organic phase; dispersing the organic phase in an aqueous phase comprising a particulate stabilizer and, optionally, a promoter; homogenizing the resultant mixture, and evaporating the solvent and washing and drying the resultant product.

    摘要: An ultraviolet light absorbing polyester resin and toner particles incorporating such polymer are provided. The toner particles are particularly useful in photolithographic applications wherein ultraviolet light is used for making printing plates from color separation transparencies which contain imaged areas defined by the toner particles. The toner particles can be prepared, if desired, in finely divided form capable of forming high resolution electrographic images, and the toner particles can be used in dry or liquid developer formulation. The toner particles are heat fusible preferably at low temperatures, resist toner offset, and have good cohesivity.

The tactile printed image by depositing tactile marking material onto the receiver medium, wherein no tactile marking material is deposited onto portions of the receiver medium corresponding to image pixels having a first state, and tactile marking material is deposited onto portions of the receiver medium corresponding to image pixels having the second state. The receiver medium has a first coefficient of friction, and the portions of the tactile printed image having deposited tactile marking material are raised by at least 20 microns relative to the surface of the receiver medium and have a second coefficient of friction which differs from the first coefficient of friction by at least 0.06.

    摘要: A fluorescing dry toner particle comprises a polymeric binder phase comprising a non-fluorescing binder polymer and a polymeric fluorescing colorant dispersed within the non-fluorescing binder polymer. The polymeric fluorescing colorant comprises a fluorescing moiety that is covalently attached to a colorant polymer that is the same or different than the non-fluorescing binder polymer, but the polymeric fluorescing colorant is blendable with the non-fluorescing binder polymer to form a homogeneous polymeric binder matrix, and is present in an amount of at least 1 weight % and up to and including 40 weight %, based on the total fluorescing dry toner particle weight. These fluorescing dry toner particles can be used in various dry developers to provide fluorescing toner images with or without non-fluorescing color toner images.

Separation data are determined for a clear toner, a light toner having the first color, and at least two additional colored toners. The separation data for the clear toner is determined in response to the height data and the separation data for the light toner is determined in response to the image data and the height data so that the clear and light-toner separations specify that respective toners be deposited one atop the other in the non-first-color region. Respective toner images are deposited on the receiver, each corresponding to respective separation data. The deposited toner is fixed to the receiver member.
