摘要: Ribbed mirrors allowing heat to be conducted past the glass during optical polish and application of coatings and methods of fabricating same. The method comprises placing a bridge of thermally conductive material in thermal contact with the mirror plate and the supporting rib at the interior angle. The preferred thermally conductive material is room temperature vulcanizing silicone. However, the room temperature vulcanizing silicone can be mixed with a powdered heat conductor such as diamond dust, aluminum oxide and silicon carbide. Alternatively, the thermally conductive fillet can be made from a segment of thermally conductive rigid material, such as copper, diamond, beryllium, silver and aluminum having an exterior angle matching the interior angle and a thermally conductive plastic such as room temperature vulcanizing silicone or thermally conductive grease, silicone or epoxy applied to surfaces of the exterior angle.

摘要: Techniques for gaining facility in the performance of jazz music by performing a sequence of patterns. Each pattern begins at a fixed interval from the preceding pattern in the sequence and the patterns are performed with perpetual motion between the patterns. The patterns are all performed with the same articulation and are systematically performed across the complete range of the instrument and across a complete set of key areas and modes. In an exemplary embodiment, the patterns are made up of eighth note octave scales played in four four time with notes played on the upbeat being slurred to notes played on the downbeat. The last note of one pattern is slurred to the first note of the next. In the exemplary embodiment, the sequences of patterns are performed in all keys and the scales are drawn from the major scale and modes that stem from the major scale.

摘要: The present invention provides novel MDCK-derived adherent non-tumorigenic cell lines that can be grown in the presence or absence of serum. The cell lines of the present invention are useful for the production of vaccine material (e.g., viruses). More specifically, the cell lines of the present invention are useful for the production of influenza viruses in general and ca/ts influenza viruses in particular. The invention further provides methods and media formulations for the adaptation and cultivation of MDCK cells such that they remain non-tumorigenic. Additionally, the present invention provides methods for the production of vaccine material (e.g., influenza virus) in the novel cell lines of the invention.

摘要: An alignment mechanism for establishing line-of-sight alignment between a transmitter (100) and a receiver (102) has, a laser pointer (300) that emanates a laser beam along a line-of-sight to illuminate the receiver (102) with a bright spot. An unmodulated reflector (304) at the receiver (102) reflects the emanated laser beam for return path transmission toward the laser pointer (300) to confirm alignment of the line-of-sight with the receiver (102). The transmitter (100) is aligned substantially along the line-of-sight and is fixed in position. A shutter in the form of a chopping wheel (400) modulates the emanated laser beam. The receiver (102) is linked to a communications apparatus (500) having an external antenna (502).

摘要: A printed circuit board is aligned to its mounting plate by using cutouts already cut for electronic components. A top plate with a notched location block and two edge locators is placed on top of both the printed circuit board and the mounting plate so that the notched block straddles two cutouts on the board and the mounting plate. At the same time, the two edge locators are placed inside the two matching cutouts. An eccentric cam is used to move a pressure plate that slides on top of the top plate and pushes both the circuit board and the mounting plate with spring action. The cam is turned until the edge locators hit the edges of the cutouts, aligning the printed circuit board to the mounting plate.
