摘要: A detachable stylet assembly for endotracheal intubation of a patient is disclosed. The stylet comprises an elongated tube defining: a longitudinal axis, a proximal end for detachably mounting the stylet to a hand grip, and a distal end for entering the trachea of the patient. The tube comprises an articulation section adjacent the distal end adapted to curve into the trachea upon actuation. An actuator housing is mounted on and adjacent to the proximal end of the tube. An actuating assembly is constructed inside the actuator housing having connection means for engaging the hand grip. A control wire is mounted within the actuator housing and connected to the actuating assembly. The control wire extends through the tube to the distal end of the tube and is adapted to curve the articulation section upon actuation. The hand grip comprises a base handle and a trigger for manual actuation of the actuator assembly. The trigger comprises finger grooves for convenient gripping. The base handle comprises a hand stop to prevent slippage.

摘要: A stylet assembly for performing a nasal endotracheal intubation of a patient is disclosed. The stylet assembly includes an elongated tube as a stylet for the intubation defining a longitudinal axis, a proximal end, and a distal end for entering the trachea of the patient. The elongated tube includes (i) a rigid section adjacent the proximal end, (ii) an articulation section adjacent the distal end and adapted to curve into the patient's trachea upon actuation, and (iii) a flexible section between the rigid section and the articulation section, the flexible section being adapted to curve to an internal shape of at least one of the patient's nose, nasal cavity, pharynx, and larynx during nasal intubation. The stylet assembly can further include an actuator housing, a control wire for actuating the articulating section, and a hand grip for maneuvering the stylet assembly.

摘要: The present invention provides novel MDCK-derived adherent non-tumorigenic cell lines that can be grown in the presence or absence of serum. The cell lines of the present invention are useful for the production of vaccine material (e.g., viruses). More specifically, the cell lines of the present invention are useful for the production of influenza viruses in general and ca/ts influenza viruses in particular. The invention further provides methods and media formulations for the adaptation and cultivation of MDCK cells such that they remain non-tumorigenic. Additionally, the present invention provides methods for the production of vaccine material (e.g., influenza virus) in the novel cell lines of the invention.

摘要: A common IP layer client device interface within an IP multimedia gateway (IMG) is configured to connect client devices to broadband IP networks such as the Internet based on determined device capabilities. Broadband IP network interfaces within the IMG are configured to enable communication between the IMG and broadband IP networks based on the determined device capabilities. Content provided by various service managers are communicated with the client devices utilizing the common IP layer client device interface and the configured network interfaces. Network capabilities may be determined during the device and network discovery. Protocol translation, media transcoding and/or dynamic device configuration may be performed based on the determined device capabilities, and based on the determined network capabilities. The IMG may adjust system timing and manage power consumptions for service deployment over corresponding client devices. Information may be routed or distributed by the IMRG among the client devices when needed.

摘要: A system and method for processing information transport elements, such as ethernet packets, at interfaces to a forwarder. Modules that implement processing logic are allocated per interface and per direction (i.e., inbound or outbound). At any given interface, a series of modules would be used to process inbound packets; likewise, a set of modules would be used to process outbound packets. For inbound packets, the modules allocated for inbound processing are executed when the packet is received from the interface, before sending the packet on to the forwarder. For packets that are outbound from the forwarder, the modules allocated for outbound processing are applied when the packet is sent by the forwarder, prior to any other processing, e.g., queuing to hardware. To assign modules to different interfaces at a forwarder, a registration process is performed during the system start-up process, or dynamically at runtime. For any given interface and direction, modules can be prioritized, so that a packet is processed sequentially in a specific order, one module after the other.

摘要: A method for supporting communication between a source internet protocol phone and a destination internet protocol phone is provided. The source internet protocol phone communicates via a Network Address Translator (“NAT”) gateway. The method includes receiving a packet from the source phone at the NAT. The packet is for communication with the destination phone. The method further includes querying whether the destination phone is located in the subnetwork serviced by the NAT gateway. If the destination phone is not located in the subnetwork serviced by the NAT gateway, then the method includes sending the packet upstream to the destination phone via the Internet. If the destination phone is located in the subnetwork serviced by the NAT gateway, then the method includes directing the packet to the destination phone.
