Abstract:
Inserting images into documents. An image source device is made active with an application used to create text in a document. An application programming interface (API) module is accessed from within the application. The API interfaces the application with a TWAIN module used for acquiring an image with the image source device. The API module is separate from the TWAIN module and isolates users from directly interacting with the TWAIN module. The application uses the API module for negotiating with the image source device to determine a set of image capture parameters that control the image source device when acquiring the image. Data representing the image is communicated from the image source device into the memory of a computer hosting the application used to create text so that the data representing the image is a portion of a document stored in the memory.
Abstract:
A mobile telephone automatically establishes communication with a system via a short-range wireless network. When communication is established, the mobile telephone user is automatically logged in to the system. The system can then apply personalized settings and/or provide access to personalized services based on the mobile telephone user's system account. Once communication between the mobile telephone and the system is established, the mobile telephone may be used as a remote control device to control operation of the system.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an interactive boxing trainer which includes a main frame, a driving unit, a control unit, a pair of boxing gloves with a respective signal transmitter and a pair of shoes with a respective signal transmitter. The main frame contains a longitudinal slide rail, a lateral slide rail and a punched body. The driving unit moves the punched body on the longitudinal slide rail and the lateral slide rail. Moreover, the control unit is in connection with a plurality of signal receivers positioned at the upper and lower part of the main frame so as to receive signals sent by the signal transmitters on the boxing gloves and shoes. Therefore, the position, speed and travelling path of the boxing gloves can be detected and processed by the control unit which then commands the driving unit to move the punched body away from the approaching gloves and shoes.
Abstract:
An wind resistance mechanism for an exercise apparatus is provided which includes a plurality of bendable blades for changing the form of the wind-facing side thereof or adjusting the wind-facing angle. A movable clamping device includes a hub supported on an output shaft of an exercise apparatus. A first and a second disc are mounted on the hub. At least one of both discs performs a reciprocating movement in axial direction. An external force is applied to the discs for changing the form of the wind-facing side of the blades or adjusting the wind-facing angle, thereby adjusting the wind resistance.
Abstract:
A displacement detector of a platform for an exercise apparatus includes a rope movably tensioned by a rotating element between fixed points on the base and the upright support, respectively. When the platform is forced to move upwardly and downwardly, the rotating element undergoes an in-place rotation by the pulling force of the rope. Thereafter, a means for detecting the rotational displacement of the rotating element, which corresponds to the supporting force of the cushioning elements, is positioned beside the rotating element on the platform. Then, the detected value is transmitted to a microprocessor in the control console.
Abstract:
A method of laser forward transfer is disclosed. Photo energy is directed through a photon-transparent support and absorbed by an interlayer coated thereon. The energized interlayer causes the transfer of a biological material coated thereon across a gap and onto a receiving substrate.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a treading exercise apparatus that includes a crank and a base. The crank is constructed as a first shaft in the middle thereof on which a bearing, a bushing and a resistance flywheel are received so that the crank rotates on a middle post of the base. Meanwhile, both sides of the first shaft are constructed as a correspondingly symmetric U-shaped treadle rod relative to the shaft which a treadle pad is rotatably received for treading movement in alternating succession. The outer side of each of the treadle rods is constructed as a second shaft. The second shafts and the first shaft are coaxially disposed along a horizontal axle line L. Moreover, the second shafts extend through side posts of the base respectively and are rotatably mounted thereon. Since the unbalanced force created by the treading movement on the crank is effectively supported, a stable treading movement can be achieved. Meanwhile, the related components can be well protected from damage, thereby elongating the service life thereof.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a rear safety foot rest of a treadmill. The treadmill includes a main frame, a running bed, a front support unit and a rear support unit. Moreover, an electronic console and two handles are disposed on the main frame, while a running belt is wrapped around the running bed for an in-place rotation. In addition, the running bed is provided with a support unit coupled with a rear roller while a rear safety foot rest is fixed to the support unit. Consequently, when the tensity and the tightness of the running belt is adjusted by an adjusting spindle, the support unit and the running belt will be synchronically shifted with the rear roller so as to maintain the proper clearance between the rear safety foot rest and the running belt.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a front supporting rod, a front wheel assembly, a main frame, a deck and a rear wheel assembly. A plate extends at each of two sides of the front end of said main frame while two corresponding plate are disposed at two sides of the upper part of a longitudinal shaft of said front wheel assembly. Moreover, two soft resilient bodies are fixed between two sets of said plates. As a result, when the main frame is inclined to the side by steering the front supporting bar for creating a direction-turning effect to the front wheels, two plates at two sides of the main frame will squeeze or pull the resilient body respectively. After removal of the external force, the main frame, the front supporting bar and the front wheels restore themselves by the resilience of the resilient body.
