Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for coding point cloud data using a scene model. An example device for coding point cloud data includes a memory configured to store the point cloud data and one or more processors implemented in circuitry and communicatively coupled to the memory. The one or more processors are configured to determine or obtain a scene model corresponding with a first frame of the point cloud data, wherein the scene model represents objects within a scene, the objects corresponding with at least a portion of the first frame of the point cloud data. The one or more processors are also configured to code a current frame of the point cloud data based on the scene model.

Abstract: An example device for filtering decoded video data includes one or more processors configured to execute a neural network filtering unit to: receive data from one or more other units of the device, the data from the one or more other units of the device being different than data for a decoded picture of video data, and wherein to receive the data from the one or more other units of the device, the one or more processors are configured to execute the neural network filtering unit to receive boundary strength data from a deblocking unit of the device; determine one or more neural network models to be used to filter a portion of the decoded picture; and filter the portion of the decoded picture using the one or more neural network models and the data from the one or more other units of the device, including the boundary strength data.

Abstract: A method of decoding video data includes determining that bi-directional optical flow (BDOF) is enabled for a block of the video data; dividing the block into a plurality of sub-blocks based on the determination that BDOF is enabled for the block, determining, for each sub-block of one or more sub-blocks of the plurality of sub-blocks, respective distortion values, determining that one of per-pixel BDOF is performed or BDOF is bypassed for each sub-block of the one or more sub-blocks of the plurality of sub-blocks based on the respective distortion values, determining prediction samples for each sub-block of the one or more sub-blocks based on the determination of per-pixel BDOF being performed or BDOF being bypassed, and reconstructing the block based on the prediction samples.

Abstract: Coding a motion vector difference (MVD) during an inter-prediction process. Example techniques may include determining a particular coding and/or signaling method for an MVD from among two or more MVD coding and/or signaling techniques. A video coder (e.g., a video encoder and/or a video decoder) may determine a particular MVD coding and/or signaling technique based on characteristics of video data or coding methods, including MV precision, Picture Order Count (POC) difference, or any other already coded/decoded information of a block of video data.
