Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for configuring and triggering conditional handover for UE mobility between a direct connection to the base station (Uu connection) and/or a relay connection (PC5 connection). Specifically, the conditional handover configuration may include preparing multiple candidate relay UEs for handover (e.g., from Uu connection to PC5 connection) and conditional handover execution criteria for relay selection (or reselection) for the UE. Similarly, features of the present disclosure provide techniques for conditional handover transition from a PC5 connection back to Uu connection when conditional handover execution criteria are met (e.g., sidelink signal strength between the two UEs falls below a channel condition threshold). Additionally, the techniques provided herein support for conditional handover of the relay UEs from a first base station to a second station while the relay UE is further supporting one or more remote UEs.

Abstract: In one aspect, a remote device generates data for transmission to a network based on an application, selects one of a set of data routing options for routing the data to the network based on policy control information; each of the set of data routing options includes routing the data via a relay device; and transmits the data to the relay device for routing the data via the selected data routing option. In another aspect, a relay establishes a protocol data unit (PDU) session with a network for relaying data received from a remote device based on policy control information, receives data from the remote device, and transmits the data to a base station coupled to the network via the PDU session. Abstract: Techniques described herein provide for leader selection of a group of vehicles, based on inter-vehicle communications. According to embodiments, a host vehicle can determine it qualifies to be the leader of a potential group by comparing vehicle information of other cars in the potential group with its own vehicle information. Once the determination has been made, the host can then a request to be the group leader to the other vehicles. If the other vehicles accept, the host vehicle can initiate group formation. Otherwise, another vehicle can reject the request and send its own request to become the group leader, reinitiating group leader negotiation until a group leader is determined.
