Abstract:
A displacer unit with a valve plate body is disclosed. The displacer unit having at least one displacer space which is arranged in a cylindrical drum rotating about an axis of rotation and which can be connected to an inlet connection and an outlet connection by a control surface. The control surface is formed on a valve plate body which is provided with a first control opening, which is connected to the inlet connection, and with a second control opening, which is connected to the outlet connection. The first control opening and the second control opening are spaced apart radially, where the displacer space can be connected to the first control opening by a first connecting passage and to the second control opening by a second connecting passage. The connecting passages are provided with a respective mechanical face seal for sealing relative to the control openings.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a compressor (1) for gaseous and/or cryogenically liquefied media comprising a first compressor piston (6) and a second compressor piston (7), which are operatively connected to an eccentric shaft (2), wherein the second compressor piston (7) is arranged substantially opposite to the first compressor piston (6) relative to the eccentric shaft (2). To solve the object of providing such a compressor with a small space requirement and low construction costs, it is proposed according to the invention for the compressor (1) to be embodied as an oscillating piston-type compressor, wherein the first compressor piston (6) is arranged on an eccentric ring (4), which is effectively connected to the eccentric shaft (2) and wherein the second compressor piston (7) is fastened to a pivot lug (8), which is effectively connected to the eccentric ring (4).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a compressor for cryogenic media comprising at least one compressor cylinder in which a compressor piston is arranged, wherein the compressor piston interacts with a crankshaft by means of a connecting rod. To solve the object of attaining a secure operation and of attaining a long service life of the compressor by means of low production efforts, it is proposed according to the invention that the compressor piston is embodied as an oscillating piston.
Abstract:
A touch sensor having an acoustic substrate, an acoustic transducer, and an acoustically diffractive grating is provided. The grating is disposed between the transducer and the substrate, so that acoustic energy from the transducer is coupled to an acoustic wave propagating along the surface of the substrate. If used in a display device, the combination of the transducer and grating may provide a low profile that allows the assembly to be more easily placed between the acoustic substrate and a bezel placed in front of the substrate. No acoustic components need be mounted on the rear surface of the substrate, allowing the acoustic substrate to be formed on the front surface of the display device.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for compressing a cryogenic media is disclosed. The apparatus includes a compressor compartment surrounded by a cylinder wall, a compressor piston being moved linearly in the compartment, an intake valve, and a compression valve, both valves being arranged in the area of the lower end position of the compressor piston. The compression valve is arranged laterally on the cylinder wall in the area of the lower end position of the compressor piston, and the head of the compressor piston has a conical shape.
Abstract:
A storage medium and a method for storing hydrogen is disclosed. The storage medium has at least one ionic compound capable of hydrogenation or consists at least partially of at least one ionic compound capable of hydrogenation. The ionic compounds are present in liquid and/or solid form.
Abstract:
A method of broadcasting advisory alerts via communications networks where a central notification computer is provided which operable to broadcast advisory alerts to electronic device addresses stored in a subscriber database in a computer retrievable format, namely an individual homepage. The subscriber database contains subscriber data sets which each include the electronic device address and at least one geographic location associated with the electronic device address. When an advisory alert is initiated, the affected geographic area is determined, and a geographic area defined by a perimeter is associated with the advisory alert. The alert is received on a smart alert home page which has been customized by the user based upon their personal preferences. The homepage includes advertisements which financially support the network operation. The advertisements are targeted at the user, based upon demographic profiles which they have inputted as their individual preferences.
Abstract:
A method and device for compressing a gaseous medium, specifically hydrogen, is disclosed. Compression of the gaseous medium takes place by way of a fluid, where a fluid is used in which the gaseous medium is not soluble and/or can be separated residue-free from the gaseous medium. An ionic fluid, a high-boiling hydraulic oil, or a fluid which has a very low vapor pressure is used as the fluid.

Abstract:
A method of broadcasting advisory alerts of the movements of sexual offenders and/or predators via communications networks where a central notification computer is provided to broadcast advisory alerts to electronic device addresses stored in a subscriber database in a text, oral, pictorial, and computer retrievable format. The subscriber database contains subscriber data sets which each include the electronic device address and at least one geographic location associated with the electronic device address. When an advisory alert is initiated, the affected geographic area is determined, and a geographic area defined by a perimeter is associated with the advisory alert. An algorithm retrieves addresses of the electronic devices associated with geographical locations within the perimeter; and the advisory alert is transmitted to the electronic device addresses associated with geographic locations within the perimeter.
