    摘要: An electrical connector for use with flexible printed circuit (FPC) includes a casing having an interior chamber defined by two side walls and a bottom and having a top opening. The chamber has a plurality of slots formed therein for receiving conductive terminal members having a base from which two opposite arms extend. Each slot has a bottom section for receiving the base of the respective conductive terminal member and a side section defined by a recess formed on each of the side walls to receive therein one of the arms. Each of the arms has an inclined outer edge defining a gap with the side wall of the casing to allow the arms to be bent toward the side walls, forming an increased spacing between the arms for receiving therein the FPC. A shortened central arm, having sideward projected paws, is also provided on the base of the terminal members to be received within a central channel formed on the bottom of the chamber to retain the terminal member within the slot. A driver member having a plate to be inserted into the chamber with a sufficient gap formed between the plate and the side walls of the chamber for receiving and retaining therein the FPC is provided to be movable relative to the casing along an insertion direction to be inserted into the interior chamber.

A plurality of passageways (22) are formed in the base (12) in a vertical direction for receiving a corresponding number of contacts (100) therein. The cover (14) is moved with regard to the base (12) in both vertical and horizontal directions so that when the socket (10) is in a closed state, the contacts (100) of the socket (10) may abut against the corresponding landing plates (112) disposed on the undersurface of the LGA chip (110) for interconnection.

    摘要: An electrical connector for use with flexible printed circuit (FPC) includes an elongated casing having an interior chamber defined by two side walls and a bottom and having a top opening. The chamber has a plurality of equally-spaced slots formed thereon to extend completely through the bottom of the casing and partially into the side walls to each receive therein a conductive terminal member which is in the form of a U shape, with the base of the U-shaped terminal member received within the bottom slot and the two arms of the U shape respectively received within side wall slots. Each of the arms has an inward projection formed on the free end thereof to contact and establish electrical engagement with the FPC. A driver member having a plate to be inserted into the chamber with a sufficient gap formed between the plate and the side walls of the chamber for receiving and retaining therein the FPC is provided to be rotatable and movable relative to the casing. The driver member is provided with two end cylinders to be respectively received and guided by chutes formed on two lengthwise ends of the casing for guiding the insertion of the driver member into the chamber. Releasable securing device is provided to secure the driver member, together with the FPC, within the chamber of the casing.

    摘要: A socket suitable for electrically connecting circuit panels such as single inline memory modules (SIMM) employs a plurality of contacts positioned within cavities in an insulative housing. This socket permits zero force or low force insertion of circuit panels into the socket and is of the type in which the circuit panel is rotated from a first position to a second position where deflection is imparted to the two contact springs. The contact terminals used with this socket are insertable into an insulative housing through the rear of the housing. A cantilever spring extending from the rear of the contact terminal is located on one side of a panel receiving slot and a curved spring is located on the other side of the panel receiving slot. Cantilever arms having terminal securing teeth at their ends engage the insulative housing and one cantilever arm extends between the cantilever spring and the curved spring and engages a central rib located within each cavity and comprising the lower surface of the panel receiving slot.
