摘要： In a color image forming apparatus has a interchangeable belt-shaped image forming body stretched between horizontally disposed rollers and a plurality of developing means located below the belt-shaped image forming body. A passage for the transfer paper conveyance unit preferably as well as a fixing unit can be opened so that a process unit comprising the above-mentioned belt-shaped image forming body can be attached to and detached from the apparatus in the same direction as the above-mentioned passage for the transfer paper conveyance unit.Furthermore, the feeding operation for a sheet by-pass or loading and unloading operation for the recording paper cassette can be also carried out in the same direction as the above-mentioned passage of the transfer paper conveyance unit.

摘要： A multicolor image forming apparatus includes an image input means for outputting at least a character, a character size, and character coordinate data on a screen as image code data on the basis of input image data, a font storage section for storing font data and outputting the font data in accordance with an input address signal, a font data conversion sectin having a function of converting the image code data into image data consisting of pixel data on the basis of the font data, and an image buffer memory for temporarily storing the image data output from the font data conversion section. Toner images are frame-sequentially formed in layers on an image forming body in units of color components on the basis of the obtained image data, thereby forming a multicolor toner image.

摘要： A color image forming apparatus is provided wherein toner images formed on a plurality of image carriers are primarily transferred onto an intermediate transfer object, and then, are secondarily transferred onto a recording sheet. The color image-forming apparatus includes an intermediate transfer member, a longitudinal direction of which is arranged in substantially a vertical direction, and onto which toner images formed on image carriers are sequentially transferred in such a manner that the toner images overlap relative to each other so as to form a color toner image on the intermediate transfer member. In addition, a transferring device is provided to transfer the color toner image formed on the intermediate transfer member onto a transfer sheet. The intermediate transfer member and the image carriers are integrated into a rack, and the rack is drawable in substantially a horizontal direction with respect to a mainframe of the color image-forming apparatus.

摘要： A method for determining toner adhesion amounts of plural color toners on a photoreceptor. The method includes the steps of: (1) forming plural reference latent images, each of which is corresponding to a respective component color image of a reference toner image; (2) developing the reference latent images, each of which is developed with a respective color toner of the plural color toners, so that developed reference latent images are superimposed, each at a time, on the photoreceptor to form the reference toner image; (3) detecting the toner adhesion amounts of the plural color toners by detecting the reference toner image every time when one of the developed reference latent images is superimposed on the same portion of the photoreceptor; and (4) determining whether the toner adhesion amounts of the plural color toners are normal or abnormal according to results of the detecting step.
