摘要: In an ink jet recording apparatus, an ink collection unit is disposed on a moving path of a recording head for receiving ink drops ejected from the recording head to which a flushing drive signal is supplied. The ink collecting unit is formed with an aperture through which the ink drops ejected from the recording head pass, and an air flow passage. A ventilation fan is disposed on the way of the air flow passage or a termination end portion of the air flow passage so that ink mist generated when the flushing operation is performed is efficiently collected in the ink collecting unit.

摘要: The object is to provide a technique whereby a non-operating nozzle can be detected with higher accuracy. The present invention resides in a printer for printing images by ejecting ink droplets from a plurality of nozzles, wherein an optical path in which light from a light-emitting element 40a for emitting light is focused by a first focusing element 41, allowed to pass through a focusing aperture 43a that is smaller than the area illuminate by the light, and transmitted through the focusing aperture 43a to a light-receiving element 40b for receiving light is laid out according to a configuration in which an intersection is formed with the path described by the ink droplets ejected by the nozzles. The light-emitting element 40a is energized and caused to emit light. The nozzles are actuated and ink droplets are ejected in the direction of a space in which the intensity of light is greater than a prescribed level and which is part of the optical path between the focusing aperture 43a and the light-receiving element 40b. A non-operating nozzle is then detected based on the fact that the light received by the light-receiving element 40b is blocked by the ink droplets thus ejected.

摘要: In an interactive editing apparatus, a three-dimensional object to be edited is a set of polygonal surfaces which are arranged in a three-dimensional space and have the same number of sides. These polygonal surfaces are arranged on the three-dimensional space to display on a perspective view, the sides of the polygonal surfaces are linearly enveloped to express a polygonal three-dimensional object. When a user edits any one of vertex positions, data regarding the edited vertex and associated other vertex positions are updated. Further in the interactive editing apparatus, data regarding vertexes and faces of the object are managed using data cells, and shape data before the last editing are stored in the data cells together with present shape data, whereby an undo function is realized.

摘要: A solid graphic arranging/editing method enables a user to enter or edit a solid graphic viewed on a display. According to the method, three points of a rectangular parallelepiped are specified, and the solid is arranged to be inscribed within the parallelepiped. A reference plane is then defined and a first point on the reference plane is specified. A local coordinate plane is also defined and a second point is specified on the local coordinate plane. A rectangle lying in the local coordinate plane and having the first and second points as diagonal vertices is then displayed. Auxiliary lines perpendicular to the local coordinate plane and passing the second point are also displayed and a third point on a selected auxiliary line is displayed. A rectangular parallelepiped is then displayed having the rectangle as one surface and the third point as a vertex. The position of the solid and the scales are then adjusted such that the solid is inscribed in the rectangular parellelepiped.

摘要: A portable motor-driven staple machine comprises: a trigger operation detecting switch 5 which is turned on and off by a trigger lever 3; a contact detecting switch 25 which is turned on and off by a contact arm 23; a cycle completion detecting switch 21 which is turned on and off by a plunger 17; and a mode change-over switch for selecting a single cycle operation mode or a continuous operation mode. Those switches are connected to a control circuit 26. When the trigger lever 3 is operated with the contact detecting switch 25 in "off" state, a timer section in the control circuit 26 counts clock pulses so that when it is detected that a predetermined period of time has passed, the switch "on" signal of the trigger operation detecting switch 5 is cut off. In the case where the continuous operation mode is selected, an automatic power interrupting function is released, so that the motor 7 is continuously driven; that is, staples are continuously driven into the object until the trigger operation detecting switch 5 or the contact detecting switch 25 is turned off.
