    摘要: An optical reading apparatus comprises a photodetector having equally divided first, second, third and fourth segments which are arranged in the path of light reflected from an optical recording medium. The first and second segments are aligned in a direction parallel to the track on the medium and the third and fourth segments are aligned in a direction perpendicular to the track. A readout circuit is provided for deriving an output A.multidot.a+B.multidot.b from the outputs of the first, second, third and fourth segments, where A and B represent constants, a represents a summed value of the outputs of the first, and second, third and fourth segments and b represents a summed value of the outputs of the first and second segments.

    摘要: A method of softening a rolled medium carbon machine structural steel is provided. This method is characterized by:(1) hot rolling steel containing 0.32-0.65% C, less than 0.05% Si, 0.3-0.9% in total of Mn and Cr, with the Mn and Cr contents being 0.2-0.5% and 0.1-0.5%, respectively, 0.005-0.1% Al, less than 0.02% P and less than 0.02% S, all percents being on a weight basis, and the balance being Fe and incidental impurities; and(2) performing either one of the following softening treatments:(i) slowly cooling the as-rolled steel at a cooling rate of 3.degree.-30.degree. C./min over the temperature range of from 750.degree. C. to the point where transformation to pearlite is completed to thereby provide the rolled steel with a strength of not greater than 30+65.times.C % (kg/mm.sup.2), C % signifying the carbon content of the steel; oras-rolled quenching the hot rolled steel to a temperature within the range of 670.degree.-720.degree. C., holding the steel in this temperature range for 4-60 minutes, and then air-cooling the steel to thereby provide the rolled steel with a strength of not greater than 30+65.times.C % (kg/mm.sup.2), C % signifying the carbon content of the steel.

    摘要: An apparatus for reproducing digital signals recorded on a magnetic or other recording tape includes a servo mechanism which is effective, when the tape is transported at a high speed in either a fast-forward or rewind mode, to maintain a relative speed between the tape and a rotary head that is substantially the same as that in the normal playback mode. Moreover, in the rewind mode, the rotary head is rotated in the direction opposite to that in the normal playback mode, while the absolute value of the relative speed remains the same as that in the normal playback mode. Further, the digital signals reproduced by the rotary head in the rewind mode have their sequential order reversed.

    摘要: Apparatus for reproducing digital signals recorded on a recording tape comprises a rotary drum about which a recording tape can be trained, a rotary head mounted in the drum, a transport mechanism for transporting the tape over the drum and rotating the head so that a relative speed is established between the head and the tape and the head scans the tape and generates reproduced digital signals in response to digital signals recorded on the tape, and a mode-control mechanism for controlling the transport mechanism so that the tape is transported over the drum at an absolute tape speed that can be varied. A servomechanism responsive to variations in the absolute tape speed adjusts the transport mechanism so that the head acquires a rotary speed such that the relative speed is restored to and maintained at a substantially constant value, not withstanding changes in the absolute tape speed effected under the control of the mode-control mechanism.

    摘要: An engine having a variable valve mechanism arranged to switch a lift degree of a valve between a low speed state and a high speed state includes a cam carrier defined by a cam bearing portion, a rocker shaft support, and a hydraulic cylinder support. The cam bearing portion is provided on a line passing through the bore center of a cylinder in a plane perpendicular or substantially perpendicular to the camshaft. The low speed rocker arm swings in response to the low speed cam of the camshaft. The high speed rocker arm swings in response to the high speed cam of the camshaft. The low speed rocker arm includes a through hole. A connecting pin is slidably inserted into the through hole and urged toward the hydraulic cylinder support. A hydraulic cylinder is provided in the hydraulic cylinder support.
