摘要: The invention relates to a variable valve train for switching an outlet valve of an internal combustion engine to an engine braking mode. The variable valve train has a camshaft with a first cam, which is designed as a normal operation cam, and a second cam, which is designed as an engine braking cam. A first rocking lever has a first stroke device which is designed for selectively making or breaking a first operative connection between the first cam and the outlet valve by means of the first rocking lever. A second rocking lever has a second stroke device which is designed for selectively making or breaking a second operative connection between the second cam and the outlet valve by means of the second rocking lever. A valve device selectively connects the first stroke device or the second stroke device to a fluid feed line.

摘要: A camshaft assembly for attachment to a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine, the camshaft assembly includes a one-piece camshaft bearing cap having an internal bearing surface sized to receive a portion of a camshaft therein, the internal bearing surface configured to support the portion of the camshaft between 180 degrees and 360 degrees circumferentially. The one-piece camshaft bearing cap is removable from the camshaft to enable line of sight access by an operator to the cylinder head. The internal bearing surface has oil supply grooves fluidly coupled to drillings for operation of a cam phaser assembled with a drive member and the camshaft. Head bolts are used to attach the cylinder head to the engine and are accessible upon removal of the camshaft bearing cap and camshaft. Standard camshaft bearing caps can be assembled with the camshaft and the cylinder head at various attachment points.

The lost motion spigot assembly (56) is configured to selectively engage a valve bridge (52) to open the first and second exhaust valves (26, 28), and the engine brake rocker arm assembly (18) is configured to selectively engage the valve bridge (52) to open only the first exhaust valve (26).

A lost motion assembly can be configured with the main and second roller rocker arms. A main cam surface can have a different extent for receiving cam actuation than a second cam surface.

The radial engine-generator can be a mobile and portable unit, and is employable as a primary or back-up source of electric power at data centers, manufacturing facilities, electric vehicle charging stations, medical facilities, telecommunications, and residential neighborhoods, among many other applications. The electric power generator and radial engine are coupled together. The radial engine includes, among other components, multiple cylinders, multiple cylinder heads, and multiple overhead camshaft assemblies. The overhead camshaft assemblies are located at the cylinder heads and each include one or more camshafts. The camshaft(s) receive rotational drive input from a crankshaft of the radial engine. In certain implementations, camshaft carrier assemblies can be provided to support components of the overhead camshaft assemblies.

摘要: An engine variable valve operating apparatus includes a cam switching mechanism having a switching drive shaft. When the switching drive shaft is longitudinally moved, a cam mechanism advances and retracts a switching pin. When the switching pin is advanced to engage in a lead groove formed around a cam carrier and the cam carrier is axially moved while rotating, cam lobes around the cam carrier are switched to act on an engine valve. An actuator for the switching drive shaft includes an actuator drive body which is linearly reciprocally movable and is coupled to a longitudinal end of the switching drive shaft to axially move the same. The above arrangement enables the cam switching mechanism and the actuator mechanism to be simple and compact in structure for preventing the engine from becoming large in size.

摘要: A variable valve train module selectively controls the opening and closing of a valve of an engine. The variable valve train module includes a drive element configured to be driven by a cam which rotates on a camshaft, a pump which is driven by the drive element, and a hydraulic control unit. The hydraulic control unit is configured to control the engine valve. The hydraulic control unit has a high pressure chamber containing hydraulic fluid which is selectively pressurized by the pump. The hydraulic control unit also has a control valve which is configured to depressurize the high pressure chamber, and a damper which is configured to increase an effective volume of the high pressure chamber when a pressure in the high pressure chamber exceeds a threshold value.

The water pump has a drive shaft coupled to the crankshaft that extends across the crankcase from a first to a second side. The water pump includes a housing where at least a portion is defined in the face of the crankshaft.
