摘要: An acceleration accumulating conveyor chain includes connecting pins with outer link plates disposed at opposite ends thereof, bushings clearance fitted with the connecting pins, each having a larger diameter article carrying roller and a smaller diameter running roller coaxially positioned, and inner link plates clearance fitted with the bushings at both ends thereof. The pins contact the bushings along the whole length of the bushings, whereby the bearing pressure per unit area is low. The clearance fit between the bushings and the inner link plates provides "play" permitting the running rollers to positively roll along a supporting rail. A rotation preventing mechanism can be provided at the engaging structures between the bushings and the inner link plates. By preventing rotation of the bushings relative to the inner link plates, noise caused by rotation of the bushings is eliminated.

摘要: This disclosure relates to a method for measuring the concentrations of sugars in liquids by the use of near infrared as well as an apparatus for practicing said method. The method comprises a step wherein the absorption spectrum of the sugar under investigation existing at a first depth relatively close to the surface in a sample is computed by using relatively weak power of near infrared, a step wherein the absorption spectrum of the sugar under investigation existing at a relatively deep second depth in the sample is computed by using relatively strong power of infrared, and a step wherein the concentration of the sugar under investigation in the sample is determined by computing the absorption spectrum of the sugar at a different depth between said first and second depths on the basis of the results of measurement in said first and second steps. The wavelengths for the use for said absorption spectrum are selected from anyone of wavelength bands of 950-1,150 nm, 1,150-1,300 nm, and 1,300-1,450 nm.Since, according to this method, wavelengths which are shorter and closer to the visible region than in the prior art are used, the method enables the measuring light beams to penetrate deeper in a living tissue and makes it possible to measure the concentrations of sugars existing in a deeper region non-invasively.

摘要: A method for producing a glass preform for use in the fabrication of an optical fiber which comprises inserting a core rod made of quartz glass in a cladding tube made of quartz glass added with fluorine, heating them from the outside of the cladding tube to fuse them together to form a primary glass preform comprising a core rod and a first cladding layer around the core rod, depositing SiO.sub.2 soot particles around the primary glass preform and thermally treating the soot deposited glass preform in the presence of a fluorine-containing compound to form a final glass preform from which an optical fiber is fabricated. From the glass preform produced by this method, an optical fiber having low attenuation of light transmission in a wide range of wave-length is fabricated.

摘要: A process and apparatus for producing an optical fiber preform by oxidizing a gaseous glass forming material with a flame from a burner and depositing the resulting soot in a rod form are described, wherein two signal beams, supplied by splitting a light beam, are projected in a direction normal to the direction in which the preform grows and are directed into the space between the burner and the deposition face of the preform, and they are positioned so that one beam partially contacts the deposition face of the preform, while the other beam is directed to pass between the burner and the deposition face, and the distance between the burner and the deposition face is controlled such that the ratio of the intensity of the two beams passing through the space between the burner and the deposition face is held constant.

摘要: A pump with high performance and cleanability includes a casing having a smaller volute and a larger volute; a space between an outer circumference of an impeller and a starting end of the smaller volute being greater than that of the larger volute, generating a circulating flow of self-priming water from the smaller volute to the larger volute; and a diffusing part of the larger volute being formed into an upright, cylindrical self-priming water separating chamber guiding the self-priming water from the smaller volute to flow in for air-water separation. An inner circumference part of the casing is formed concentric with the outer circumference of the impeller with a predetermined space therebetween; defining members are protrusively disposed on the inner circumference part of the casing so as to define the shapes of the two volutes; and the self-priming water separating chamber is made attachable to and detachable from the casing.

摘要: A cylinder-shaped flow passage in which a first fluid flows includes an internal cylinder which is smaller in diameter than the flow passage. A swirl-generating stator having four vanes is radially fixed in the internal cylinder. A header space for supplying a second fluid is provided to the outer circumference of a wall surface of the internal cylinder in contact with flow separation areas which are formed along downstream surfaces of the swirl-generating stator as the first fluid runs into the swirl-generating stator. The wall surface of the internal cylinder is formed with openings through which the flow separation areas communicate with the header space. The second fluid supplied into the header space flows through the openings into the flow separation areas, and is diffused along the vanes of the swirl-generating stator to be swirled and mixed into the first fluid applied with swirling force by the swirl-generating stator.

摘要: A lubricating oil feeding structure that permits an adequate amount of lubricating oil to be fed to those parts around the transmission while avoiding an excess supply of lubricating oil to the lubricating oil passage in the shaft of the transmission. The transmission has a space (as a recess to hold the shaft therein) in which is arranged the oil guide part. The oil guide part has the bottomed cylinder, with its one end opened, the flange that flares outward at the open end of the bottomed cylinder, and the oil holes that communicate between the inside and the outside of the bottomed cylinder. The oil guide part is arranged in the space in such a way that the flange comes into contact with the outer race of the bearing.
