    摘要: A toner including toner particles of a styrene acrylate binder and at least one colorant, wherein the styrene acrylate binder has a weight average molecular weight of about 20 to about 30 kpse and a molecular peak of about 23 to about 28 kpse, the toner particles have a weight average molecular weight of about 28 to about 130 kpse, a number average molecular weight to about 9 to about 13.4 and a MWD of about 2.2 to about 10, and the toner particles have a cohesion of about 55 to about 98% at a mean circularity of about 0.94 to about 0.98. Also included is a set of toners for forming a color image, comprising a cyan toner, a magenta toner, a yellow toner and a black toner, wherein each of the cyan toner, the magenta toner, the yellow toner and the black toner have toner particles of about 70 to about 95% by weight, solids basis, of a styrene acrylate binder, about 5 to about 15% by weight, solids basis, of a wax dispersion, and at least one colorant.

    摘要: An electrophoretic display liquid composition for use in an electrophoretic display device that has a multiplicity of individual reservoirs, each containing the liquid, contains one or at least two sets of particles dispersed in a transparent and/or colored liquid system. The at least two sets of particles exhibit different, contrasting color and different charging properties from each other, while in the one particle system, the particles exhibit a different, contrasting color from the colored liquid. In all embodiments, at least one of the sets of particles are particles with adjustable morphology made from emulsion/aggregation process. The morphology of the particles is controlled to be from grape, cauliflower, raspberry, or potato up to substantially perfect spheres. The transparent liquid system may include two immiscible liquids having different densities with the sets of particles having densities in between the densities of the two immiscible liquids such that the particles rest at an interface between the two immiscible liquids.

    摘要: An electrophoretic display device includes a spacer layer sandwiched between two conductive film substrates, the spacer layer defining a multiplicity of individual reservoirs within the display device which are filled with a display liquid. The spacer layer preferably is one of (a) a screen in which holes within the screen define the individual reservoirs, (b) a laser punched spacer layer comprised of a sheet having holes laser punched therein in which the laser punched holes define the individual reservoirs, (c) a pocket spacer layer comprised of sheets joined together and containing a pattern of pockets within the sheets in which the pockets define the individual reservoirs, (d) an etched photoresist layer formed upon one of the conductive film substrates in which holes etched in the photoresist layer define the individual reservoirs, and (e) a composite etched layer comprised of a composite of two photoresist layers sandwiching a conductive film in which holes etched in the composite define the individual reservoirs. The device can display both monochrome and color images.
