摘要： A refiner includes two or more facing refining assemblies. Each refining assembly includes a backing structure and refiner plate segments engaged to the backing structure A series of alternating bars and grooves defines a refining surface on each refiner plate segment. The refiner plate segments of the first refining assembly have a terminal edge perimeter defined by two or more terminal edges of bars disposed closest to the outer arc of the substrate of the first refining assembly. The refiner plate segments of the second refining assembly have an outermost edge circumference defined by an outermost terminal edge of a bar disposed closest to the outer arc of the substrate of the second refining assembly facing the first refining assembly. The terminal edge perimeter of the first refining assembly is not parallel to the outermost edge circumference of the second refining assembly.

By piloting multiple rotor cap segments with retaining means on the cap segment retainer and positioning means on the multiple cap segments, the rotor cap segments and cap segment retainer assembly may be fixed to a plate holder or directly to a rotor disc of a refiner without substantially altering either the plate holder or the rotor disc.

摘要： This disclosure describes a level indicator assembly for measuring the level of solids in a vessel. The level indicator may desirably comprise a solid shaft extending into a vessel. The shaft may have paddle connected to an interior end of the shaft and an external sensor attached to an exterior end of the shaft. A support structure may engage the sensor to prevent at least a portion of the sensor from moving. By keeping a portion of the sensor stationary, the sensor may measure the change in torsional force exerted on the shaft. By locating the sensor external to the vessel, operators may remove and replace sensors without accessing either the vessel interior or the portions of the level indicator assembly that extend into the vessel.

摘要： The present disclosure describes a refiner plate segment with one or more continuous, generally spiraling transition zones. A transition zone spans from an area near the inner portion of the plate, near the breaker bar area, and extends toward an area near the periphery of the plate at an angle. A tangent line to the transition zone intersecting a radial line forms this angle. The radial line is formed by a line perpendicular to the outer periphery passing through the center point of the center of plate rotation.

摘要： A rotary drum for thickening pulp from a slurry, the drum including drainage channels delivering filtrate from a pulp mat on an outer surface of the rotary drum to at least one filtrate chamber at an end of the rotary drum, a flat face valve and plenum chamber assembly in the filtrate chamber. The flat face valve juxtaposed against drainage outlets of the drainage channels, wherein the flat face valve does not block the drainage outlets during a majority of the rotation of the rotary drum. At least one opening on the flat face valve extending through the front surface and aligned with the drainage outlets to provide a fluid passage through the flat face valve and to a plenum chamber behind the flat face valve such that air in the filtrate is collected in the upper portion of the plenum chamber and removed from the rotary drum.
