Abstract:
A method for reducing a linear artifact in a medical image. The method includes identifying, in the medical image, a region occupied by the linear artifact and isolating, in the region, a signal intensity component attributed to the linear artifact from an overall signal intensity of the region. The method further includes obtaining a corrected signal intensity by subtracting, in the region, the signal intensity component attributed to the linear artifact from the overall signal intensity of the region, and, after obtaining the corrected signal intensity, correcting a contrast in the region to match the contrast in surrounding regions.
Abstract:
A method for producing packages of printed materials arranged in order based on multiple original digital documents. A user interface is provided to allow the user to specify the order of the original documents to be printed. A print server generates multiple sub-jobs which contain linking information that links them to each other in the specified order to form a job set. The job set can be submitted to a printer in one submission. A printer executes the linked sub-jobs sequentially based on the linking information contained in the sub-jobs to produce the multiple printed documents in the specified order.
Abstract:
A method and system for recognizing behavior is disclosed, the method includes: capturing at least one video stream of data on one or more subjects; extracting body skeleton data from the at least one video stream of data; computing feature extractions on the extracted body skeleton data to generate a plurality of 3 dimensional delta units for each frame of the extracted body skeleton data; generating a plurality of histogram sequences for each frame by projecting the plurality of 3 dimensional delta units for each frame to a spherical coordinate system having a plurality of spherical bins; generating an energy map for each of the plurality of histogram sequences by mapping the plurality of spherical bins versus time; applying a Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG) algorithm on the plurality of energy maps to generate a single column vector; and classifying the single column vector as a behavior and/or emotion.
Abstract:
A method for arranging graphical objects in an electronic document displayed on a screen of a computing device includes calculating a plurality of positions of the graphical objects displayed on a display area of the screen, grouping the graphical objects whose calculated positions are located within a predetermined area of the display area, calculating a reference point of the group based on each position of the grouped graphical objects, reflowing the grouped graphical objects in response to a variation in display of the electronic document, calculating potential energies for the reflowed graphical objects, and displaying the electronic document with the reflowed graphical objects in a layout having the minimum potential energy among the calculated potential energies.
Abstract:
A method for managing a hardcopy document (HD). The method includes: obtaining an image of the HD; identifying, within the image, a plurality of linking labels and a plurality of regions corresponding to the plurality of linking labels; extracting a plurality of strings from the plurality of regions; generating a combined string by combining the plurality of strings based on the plurality of linking labels; and generating an editable electronic version of the HD specifying the combined string.
Abstract:
A method, a readable recording medium, and a system are disclosed for managing software version compatibility amongst a plurality of devices within a network, the method includes hosting a configuration file on a server populating the configuration file for each of the one or more devices with a device identifier and one or more software modules associated with each of the one or more devices, the at least one software module configured to perform one or more specific operations on a device; executing a configuration tool on the server to compare the one or more software modules in each of the one or more devices to check for conflicts between two or more software modules on the one or more devices; and replacing at least one of the two or more software modules on the one or more devices, if a conflict exists between the two or more software modules.
Abstract:
A method, system and computer program product are disclosed that facilitates exchange multifunction job security using IPv6 Neighbor Discovery, which can include generating a print job on a first node, the first node having a first software module and a first IP filter configured to capture neighbor solicitation messages and sending a neighbor solicitation request with the at least one security option to a second nod. Capturing the neighbor solicitation request via a second IP filter on the second node; validating a digital certificate and decrypting a first encrypted job identifier associated with the neighbor solicitation request using a second software module on the second node. Sending a neighbor advertisement to the first node, the neighbor advertisement including a second encrypted job identifier for the print job and capturing the neighbor advertisement from the second node with the first IP filter, and processing the job on the first node.
Abstract:
A 2D color barcode decoding method is disclosed. The barcode includes a 2D array of data cells, corner locators, and border reference cells. Each data cell and reference cell has one of four primary colors (e.g. CMYK or CMWK). The reference cells, which have known colors, are used to calculate the channel offset (a spatial offset) of each primary color and the reference color values of each primary color. The reference cells are also used to calculate a color conversion matrix between color intensity (RGB) values and the primary color. Pixel-color probabilities are calculated from the pixel color intensity values using the color conversion matrix. The color of each data cell is determined using the pixel-color probabilities, the pixel color intensity values, the reference color intensity values, and the channel offset.
Abstract:
A method and system are disclosed for recognizing an object, the method including emitting one or more arranged patterns of infrared rays (IR) from an infrared emitter towards a projection region, the one or more arranged patterns of infrared rays forming unique dot patterns; mapping the one or more arranged patterns of infrared rays on the operation region to generate a reference image; capturing an IR image and a RGB image of an object with a wearable device, the wearable device including an infrared (IR) camera and a RGB camera; extracting IR dots from the IR image and determining a match between the extracted IR dots and the reference image; determining a position of the RGB image on the reference image; and mapping the position of the RGB image to a coordinate on the projection region.
Abstract:
A method for servicing messages with digital documents accessed and displayed by a client application, including the steps of establishing a database of message queues each associated with one or more digital documents and containing one or more messages, and upon authorizing a user's request for accessing and using a digital document, providing a message queue associated with the digital document.
