Abstract:
A server, system, and method are disclosed for ensuring uniform level of color of distributed print jobs, wherein each of the plurality of printers is configured to conduct color validation and/or color calibration based on a first criterion. The server having a processor configured to: receive, from a client computer, a request relating to a print job; determine whether the received print job is a split job, which can be split amongst the plurality of the printers; filter at least two printers each having an in-line spectrophotometer from the plurality of printers; and instruct to the each filtered at least two printers so that color validation and/or color calibration is performed based on a second criterion by using the in-line spectrophotometer, wherein the second criterion causes color validation and/or color calibration at each of the each filtered at least two printers to be performed earlier than the first criterion.
Abstract:
Labels for food, beverage, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, reagent, or vitamin packaging articles are provided. The labels include a print that is initially hidden, but at a later time period the print or an image within the print becomes visible to the consumer. The print or the image can, for example, include the expiration date of the product. A food, beverage, cosmetic pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, reagent, or vitamin packaging articles is also provided that includes a reservoir having a dye. Upon expiration of the product, the dye is released to taint the product so that a consumer has notice to avoid using the product.
Abstract:
A method, a readable recording medium, and a system are disclosed for managing software version compatibility amongst a plurality of devices within a network. The method includes hosting a configuration file on a server, populating the configuration file for each of the two or more printers within the network with a printer identifier and one or more software versions associated with each of the two or more printers; executing a configuration tool on the server to compare the one or more software versions on a first printer of the two or more printers and the one or more software versions on at least one second printer of the two or more printers; and displaying if there is a software version discrepancy between the one or more software versions on the first printer and the one or more software versions on the at least one second printer.
Abstract:
A method, a readable recording medium, and a system are disclosed for managing software version compatibility amongst a plurality of devices within a network, the method includes hosting a configuration file on a server populating the configuration file for each of the one or more devices with a device identifier and one or more software modules associated with each of the one or more devices, the at least one software module configured to perform one or more specific operations on a device; executing a configuration tool on the server to compare the one or more software modules in each of the one or more devices to check for conflicts between two or more software modules on the one or more devices; and replacing at least one of the two or more software modules on the one or more devices, if a conflict exists between the two or more software modules.
Abstract:
A method, system, and recording medium are disclosed for verifying a type of print media within trays of an image forming apparatus. The method includes feeding a sheet of a print media from a tray of the image forming apparatus to an in-line spectrophotometer; measuring characteristics of the print media with the in-line spectrophotometer, the measured characteristics of the print media including at least one of brightness, whiteness, or color; and determining if the measured characteristics of the print media matches a type of print media identified in a tray database for the tray of the image forming apparatus.
