Abstract:
Method, system and computer program to provide transparent scalability to Online Social Networks and better performance of its back-end databases, by an efficient partitioning of the underlying community structure and replicating of user profiles, ensuring that every user has a master or slave replica of all his neighbors on the same partition where he is located.
Abstract:
The protected resource, typically an API, is exposed by endpoints of a plurality of administrative domains. The endpoints are previously unknown by said service application and the method further comprises: i. using an intermediate or global entity for: a) selecting one of said administrative domains based on flexible criteria (i.e. at least on the identity of said end user but also considering varying user or service preferences); and b) performing, said selected administrative domain, a secure authorization to grant access to said end user by means of an open protocol; and ii. providing, said selected administrative domain to said service application, once performed said secure authorization, direct or proxy access to said user's protected resource via the endpoint established by said intermediate entity.
Abstract:
A method, computer programs and a use for automatic identification and classification of land uses. The method including a computing mechanism running in a computer device receiving as inputs, a geographical region R, a plurality of base stations giving coverage to the geographical region R and a call records generated by individuals using the base stations, and performing automatically the identification and classification of land uses by making use of information extracted during a given time period from the call records. The programs include code adapted to perform the approximation of each coverage region when the program is run on a computer, and to perform a comparison when the program is run on a computer.
Abstract:
The optical connection device comprises a housing body (20) having a transceiver cavity (21) to receive an optical transceiver and an approaching channel formed about a longitudinal axis (15) to receive a plastic optical fibre (10) having a termination (11) adjacent to and aligned with said optical transceiver, a deformable clamp arranged around said plastic optical fibre (10), and a movable fixer element (40) configured to deform said deformable clamp to grip the plastic optical fibre (10) when said fixer element (40) is moved in a fixing direction with respect to said housing body (20). The fixer element (40) is moved in said fixing direction by a fixer spring member (70) and a releaser element (50) is arranged to move the fixer element (40) in an opposite releasing direction for releasing the deformable clamp when said releaser element (50) is manually depressed.
Abstract:
The method comprises: generating a set of cost functions for foreground, background and shadow segmentation classes or models, where the background and shadow segmentation models are a function of chromatic distortion and brightness and colour distortion, and where said cost functions are related to probability measures of a given pixel or region to belong to each of said segmentation classes; and applying to pixel data of an image said set of generated cost functions; The method further comprises defining said background and shadow segmentation cost functionals introducing depth information of the scene said image has been acquired of. The system comprises camera means intended for acquiring, from a scene, colour and depth information, and processing means intended for carrying out said foreground segmentation by hardware and/or software elements implementing the method.
Abstract:
It is characterised in that it comprises creating with computing means a multidimensional profile of a user including at least a prediction of behaviour of said user and a characterisation of social influence of said user, said prediction of behaviour comprising: a) applying predictive models to individual factors; b) calculating influence received by said user from a social circle, said calculation based at least on previous events and Social Network Analysis Information, said previous events referred to behaviour or behaviours previously adopted by members of said social circle; and said characterisation of social influence comprising simulating a determined behaviour in said user and estimating the effect caused over at least part of said members of said social circle.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for gender identification of a cell-phone subscriber. There are two main steps: constructing a general model of female and male calling behaviour from a set of variables obtained for each subscriber; and classifying an individual calling behaviour of a subscriber comparing it with the general model. The method includes the step of constructing the general model comprises obtaining a set of data, that may be obtained from calling detail records, that are saved at a database every time a subscriber makes or receives a phone call; computing a set of variables using a set of instances from subscribers who their gender is already known; and applying an algorithm which generates groups labelled as male or female behaviour. Finally, in the step of classifying, the gender of the subscriber is identified by assigning to the subscriber the label of the closest group.
Abstract:
A system including a user looking for a candidate user for a telematic operation or transaction within a distributed reputation system; making, in addition to requests for information about reputation to trusted users, other requests for information on reputation to the very candidates, such that the selected candidate is selected because the candidate has a criterion of reputation over the other users that is as similar as possible to that of the user who is searching for a candidate. According to the method, a block of reputation-related data is included in a data-collection step, based on the similarity of reputation-related criteria between a user searching for candidates for an operation and the candidates.
Abstract:
This invention proposes a method for assigning resources in the downlink based on the CQI parameter reported by the UE compatible with the LTE standard. The method looks for saving signalling resources when conditions are such that no major a vantage can be obtained from frequency selective scheduling. The method is divided into two processes, a non real time process used to determine whether the conditions for its application are present; and the new assignment procedure. For the latter, the method defines different assignment procedures based on whether the CQI value reported by the UE is higher or not of a given threshold whose calculation is also defined. A new parameter, the MAB, is defined for the assignment in case of CQI higher than the threshold, while frequency distributed scheduling is used if it is lower. The proposed method is believed to improve the LTE spectral efficiency with reduced complexity.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a subscription method and system providing a modification of the UPnP standard, which by means of TISPAN delegated NASS authentication allows a user to play contents provided by a service provider via subscription by means of a control point which can be any consumer electronic device of the user. The modification of the standard is based on adding a field called ‘subscriptionURL’ and a variable called ‘subscriptionStatus’. These modifications, the association established by the TISPAN CLF module between the user IP and the user IMSI and the implementation of a UPnP device in the user equipment, allow subscribing to the services provided by several service providers.
