摘要： A reed cleaning apparatus is provided with rotary brushes (16) supported on a carriage (3) that travels along the upper bar (2) of a reed for rotation about an axis parallel to guide groove (17) formed in the reed. Flexible shafts (15) are used to transmit rotative force to the rotary brushes (16) to form the reed cleaning apparatus in compact construction, to dispose the rotary brushes close to the reed, to form the rotary brushes in a small diameter, and to enable cleaning the reed with warp yarns extended through the reed by depressing the warp yarns. The rotary brushes are disposed at the opposite longitudinal ends, respectively, of the carriage (3) to enable the reed cleaning apparatus to clean the entire length of the reed.

摘要： Method and apparatus to employ rotating brushes to remove the lint, size, trimer, dirt, etc. from the reed of a weaving machine in an efficient manner without removing the reed from the weaving machine, without disengaging the warp yarn sheet, and without significantly reducing the tension on the warp yarn sheet. The apparatus is particularly effective on air jet weaving machines, on which the apparatus simultaneously cleans the reed and the auxiliary air nozzles. The apparatus has a pair of reed guides and a clamping air cylinder that engage the reed; a plurality of wheels that deflect the warp yarn sheet in a downward direction, exposing the reed and auxiliary air nozzles for cleaning; and a drive motor and a winder drum mechanism that allow the cleaning apparatus to be readily moved across the loom. The apparatus has the desirable features of being efficient, portable, and economical, as one apparatus can be used to clean many weaving machines.

摘要： A system and method for providing conditioned air to a yarn traveling on a textile machine includes an air conditioning unit local to said textile machine and configured to receive input air and to condition the air to a first desired relative humidity. An air delivery conduit is in communication with the air conditioning unit and conveys the conditioned air therefrom. A diffuser is in communication with the delivery conduit so that the conditioned air flows into the diffuser. The diffuser defines a nonuniform opening so that the conditioned air leaves the diffuser in a turbulent flow. The opening is disposed at a predetermined distance from the yarn so that an air mixture, comprising the turbulent conditioned air and ambient air drawn into the turbulent flow, has a second desired relative humidity upon reaching the yarn.

摘要： An air channel extends parallel to and underneath the straight runway of a travelling cleaner, and the runway and air channel extend above a row of weaving machines. Provided above each weaving machine on the underside of the air channel is a downward-directed piston-flow outlet which is supplied with suitably conditioned air by the air channel. Provided in the floor underneath each weaving machine is an air outlet which is connected to a suction channel. Via an air-treatment system, the air returned from the suction channel, after being filtered and conditioned as necessary, is fed into the air channel again. The air channel and the runway extend in parallel relation with respect to each other, form a unit, and are jointly supported.

A cover is movable into and out of covering relation to the reed to constrain ambient air to be drawn into the housing from the opposite sides of the reed generally in alignment with the direction of yarn travel to prevent the suction force from imposing additional tension on the yarns and to minimize entrance of air borne ambient lint into the vacuum housing.

This weaving loom cleaning apparatus can be disposed in a compact space under the warp between the back beam of the weaving loom and the heddles of the same, and when the weaving loom cleaning apparatuses are used for a plurality of weaving looms, the equipment cost, power cost, and labor requirement for the disposal of the gathered flies can be reduced by the central loom cleaning system in accordance with the present invention.
