The lamellae (44) are arranged on a common bar (45) so that they can be individually adjusted, thus enabling the adjustment of the desired weft thread path (23) by positioning the lamellae (44). The lamellae (44) and the bar (45), at the same time, form the reed (43) that is used for casting on the weft thread (32) at the fabric edge (16).

    摘要: A weaving reed (3) having a plurality of reed dents (14) fixed in certain positions and which may be located in a reed baulk (6). The reeds may be plain reeds or reeds, with any profile, usable virtually on any loom. The dents are formed of wires and spaces (10) and are variably spaced. The variable spaces are formed by varying the thickness of the wires, the width of the spaces, or a combination thereof to produce fabrics with a desired warp density across the entire width of a given fabric. The reed may produce a consistent warp end density which improves the mechanical properties of a given fabric and also provides virtually consistent air permeability across the width of the finished fabrics. The reed can also produce changes in warp end density in a given fabric for certain desired effects. A rotary type reed (14) and weaving rotor (19) for multiple-shed looms are also disclosed.

    摘要: A slay and reed assembly for use on textile machines includes a reed having dents disposed in an upper and lower channel. A reciprocating motion slay with clamping device is used to carry the reeds and moves the reeds towards and away from a fabric fell line wherein the dents beat-up filler yarns into the fabric fell line. The clamping device includes a recess for receiving the lower channel of the reed. The recess has an essentially vertical front face that is at an angle of essentially 90.degree. with the fabric fell line when the slay is in the beat-up position. The reed is received within the slay so that the dents are disposed to form an angle greater than 90.degree. with respect to the fabric fell line when the slay is in the beat-up position and the vertical front face of the clamping device is perpendicular to the fabric fell line.

    摘要: A pneumatic loom having at least two blow nozzles arranged in a bundle, is equipped with a weft thread insertion alignment device (2) located in a fixed position between the blow nozzles and the weft thread guide channel formed by the reed teeth. The alignment device (2) has an alignment slot having a funnel-shape receiving the weft threads at a wide inlet opening and leading the weft threads to a narrower outlet opening. The alignment slot extends along at least a portion of the path followed by the reed teeth on their beat-up motion. One end of the alignment slot is open toward the weft thread cutting scissors for exit of the weft threads. Weft threads waste is kept very low by the location of all relevant components close to each other. The effectiveness of the scissors is not impaired at all. The time available for the weft thread insertion is increased which means that the r.p.m. of the loom can be increased.

    摘要: A loom having a drum type weft reservoir including a drum on which a predetermined length of a weft yarn is wound to be measured and reserved prior to weft picking. The weft reservoir is automatically prepared for loom starting by merely operating a manual switch. The local includes a clutch which is engaged at a predetermined operational phase of the loom to drive the weft reservoir. If the manual switch is actuated when the clutch is disengaged, then the clutch is engaged at a second time substantially later than the first time at which the predetermined operational phase is reached. Any cut, broken or unnecessary weft yarn remaining wound on the drum when the switch is actuated is removed during the interval between the first and second times, e.g. by pulling the weft yarn from the side of a weft inserting nozzle. The weft yarn is pulled from the weft inserting nozzle side by a device such as a picked weft yarn removing device adapted to pull the weft yarn wound on the weft reservoir drum in the direction of the weft inserting nozzle. When the second time comes, the weft reservoir is driven and a new weft yarn is wound on the weft reservoir drum for use as the weft yarn when the loom starts. The loom thus is prepared for starting merely by actuating the manual switch, regardless of the number of turns of weft yarn wound on the drum before the switch is actuated.

    摘要: A weft guiding comb of a jet loom wherein the weft is inserted across the shed by a stream of fluid carrying medium. The comb contains relay bodies located under the lower warp threads of the shed at the reed. The reed consists of flat dents to beat up the inserted weft to the fabric, the wall of which adjacent to said lower warp threads of the shed is one part of the weft guiding comb wall. Such wall is provided with saw-toothed projections, the face surfaces of which at least in the moment of the weft insertion carry the lower warp threads of the shed, and in the faces of which, transverse to the direction of the weft insertion, there are the mouths of the relay nozzles pointing in the direction of the weft insertion. The other part of the weft guiding comb wall are the backs of the reed dents, said dents being above the wall of the relay body with saw-toothed projections provided with nose extensions, the length of which corresponds with the width of the back surface of the relay body saw-toothed projections.
