摘要： An impact resistant shutter assembly, such as Bahama and Colonial-style shutter assemblies, for protecting glass of external openings of a structure, where the shutter assembly is resistant to damage by flying debris from high wind storms and hurricanes, said shutter assembly designed to meet governmental building code requirements for resistance to flying debris from hurricanes. The shutter assembly comprises a generally rectangular frame fabricated of a light-weight metal, such as aluminum, having a pair of side members, and top and bottom members. Extending between and into the side members are a plurality of angled slats, where the ends of the angled slats are anchored within the side members by a pair of rod members passing through apertures in proximity to the slat ends. Optionally, a locking mechanism may be provided to secure a pair of shutter assemblies during the periods of high winds and hurricanes.

摘要： A blind slat assembly for door/window Venetian blinds includes a door/window frame made up of a plurality of side brackets wherein the left and right side brackets are provided with a plurality of retaining holes disposed at the corresponding inner sides thereon respectively for blind slats to be mounted thereto, and a linkage rod is attached at the same side of the blind slats thereon. A thicker locating rod is disposed at the center of the blind slat thereon, and a protruded coupling section is extending at both ends of the central locating rod thereof respectively to be registered with the retaining holes of the left/right side brackets thereof so as to attach the blind slat onto the door/window frame thereby. Via the flexibility of the blind slats thereof, each blind slat is capable of being pushed at both lateral sides thereof till slightly bent into an arc shape at the middle section thereof, permitting the protruded coupling sections of the central locating rod thereof to detach from the retaining holes of the left/right side brackets according to the deformation of the blind slat thereof. Thus, the blind slat is retrieved in a fast and easy manner for the replacement of a new blind slat assembled in the same way above without the door/window frame being troublesomely dismantled in the operation thereof, facilitating an easy and fast dismounting as well as assembling of the blind slats for variation and replacement thereof.

摘要： A compression mount assembly is provided for securing a window covering to a window frame by compression forces between vertical sides of the window frame on opposite sides of the window. A housing is coupled to the window covering and a slide translates linearly within a cavity in the housing away from the housing to abut the side of the window frame. A driver, such as a spring, is located between the slide and the housing to urge the slide away from the housing. A trigger is provided which holds the slide adjacent the housing, until the trigger is activated by pushing a button to release the slide from the housing and allow the slide to translate away from the housing. A fixed end cap is provided for an end of the window covering opposite the compression mount assembly and for abutting against an opposite side of the window frame.

The shutter is resistant to the adverse effects of sunlight, humidity, rain and wind, and will retard flying objects, and will pass commonly used missile tests for building materials. The resulting shutter will also withstand substantial stresses from wind loads, so as to perform satisfactorily in wind load tests. The window covering of the invention is substantially maintenance free.

摘要： The present invention 10 discloses a louvered window insert comprising two louvered frame sections 39, 50 each having one vertical member 44, 60 with an upper and lower horizontal member 40, 42, 56, 58 extending from each end thereof and a plurality of louver blades 46, 52 extending horizontally therebetween. The distal ends of the horizontal members and louver blades of the first section have recesses 48, 54 to receive and slidably secure the horizontal members 56, 58 and louver blades 52 of the second section as they travel therethrough allowing a user to size the insert to a window 12 simply by placing the fully overlapped assembly inside an open window 12 and separating the two frame sections 39, 50 thereby reducing the overlap of the horizontal members and the louvers and effectively elongating the insert until the two vertical members 44, 60 are flush to their respective side jambs and then lowering the window 12 until it sits atop the present invention. An additional embodiment is provided wherein the louver blades 46, 52 are generally flat with blade 46 having curved edges for receiving blade 52. An additional embodiment disclosed a storm window frame adapter 70 along with a storm window track adapter 72. Also, a tensioning means 88 is provided for securing the upper and lower horizontal frame members to each other.
