摘要： A supporting frame mounting a work implement, such as a post hole digger, is disclosed wherein the supporting frame is connected to a standard snow plow mount at the front of a truck. The supporting frame includes a fixed base member affixed to the snow plow mount and supporting a rotatable base portion by a slew bearing. The supporting frame further includes a double arm boom member pivotally connected to the rotatable base member and a single arm boom member pivotally connected to the double arm boom member to provide a compact nesting configuration for transport. The work implement is affixed to the single arm boom member by a pivot and a swivel to permit a self-seeking vertical orientation by gravity. A hydraulic system powers the pivotal movement of the boom members and the rotatable base member, as well as the operation of the work implement. The hydraulic operations are effected by manipulation of a pair of joy stick controllers that are pivotally movable between an upright transport position and a tilt-out operative position. Stability for the supporting frame is attained through a pair of opposing support legs pivotally connected to the fixed base member, the pivotal movement of which is effected through a ratchet mechanism. The extensible boom members and rotatable base member provide a great range of operation for the work implement from each resting position of the truck.

摘要： Disclosed herein is a device for orienting a drilling auger disposed on and powered by a vehicle defined by a lower frame member carried by the vehicle, an upper frame member pivoted to the lower frame member for rotation about an axis, and an auger supporting framework pivoted to the upper framework for rotation about a second axis orthogonal to the first axis in which the rotation is controlled by hydraulic cylinders extending between the lower and upper frame members, and between the upper frame member and the auger supporting framework, respectively. The auger itself is driven by a power take-off on the vehicle in a preferred form which in conjunction with the preceeding structure allows the auger to address the earth in which the hole is to be drilled in substantially any angle above the surface of the earth.

摘要： A soil sampling device adapted to be mounted on a motor vehicle. The soil sampling device includes a tubular probe which is operated by means of a hydraulic cylinder and piston. A mechanism linking the probe with the piston causes the probe to swing from a horizontal position to a vertical position and then to move vertically downward into the soil. Upon withdraw from the soil the probe is caused to move vertically upward until clear of the soil and then to swing to a horizontal position with the end of the probe adjacent a sample collecting container. A second hydraulic piston and cylinder serves to eject the soil sample from the probe and into the collecting container. The controls for operation of the device are adapted to mounted at the vehicle operator's station.

摘要： An improved portable hydraulically powered driving machine, for driving posts, ground anchors, concrete breakers, core drills, and the like work pieces into the ground, pavements or wall structure, has a tower in the form of a stanchion carried by an extensible pedestal mounted boom rig on a mobile base such as a conventional truck and in its working position is adapted to rest on the ground, pavement or wall structure at a controlled attitude relative thereto to guide a hydraulically powered hammer and hold an anvil against the work piece and, in its transporting position is adapted to be secured horizontally at a low level in a truck-mounted frame. The stanchion down-crowds the hammer guide to load a compression spring which maintains the anvil continuously against the work piece even after the impact force of the hammer blow is expended and the work piece advances a considerable distance. The hammer is also spring-loaded, a hydraulic jack lifts the hammer and stretches the spring and the stroke of the hammer together with the rapidity of the hammer blows is controlled by a rotating dump valve for the jack. The speed of rotation of the dump valve is controlled by the machine operator with faster speeds decreasing the stroke of the hammer and increasing the number of blows delivered per minute. Hydraulic controls are provided to accurately place the stanchion at the work site and to control the angle and direction in which the hammer blows are to be delivered. Air is introduced into the fluid return line from the dump valve for cushioning fluid flow.

摘要： A mobile vehicle is disclosed having a boom pivotally mounted thereon for slewing about a vertical axis and a work head attached to the free end of the boom by a universal mounting. The universal mounting consists of a first housing having a base attached to the boom and a power driven worm in drive relation with a worm gear in the housing. The worm gear has a central hub to which is connected a second housing and which in turn has a driven worm in drive relation with a worm gear mounted therein. The worm gear in the second housing has a central hub and to which is attached a support carrying the work head.
