摘要: A printing system includes: a client; at least one printer; a server; and a management device. The client is transmits a permission request to the management device. The management device determines a number of jobs in a print queue, calculates a comparison value by adding one to the number of jobs in the print queue, and compares a predetermined value to the comparison value upon receipt of the permission request. The management device transmits a utilization permission to the client when the comparison value is less than or equal to the predetermined value. The client transmits a job comprising image data to the server when the client receives the utilization permission, and the server generates printing data based on the image data when the server receives the job and transmits the printing data to the at least one printer.

摘要: In an information processing device, an operation executing unit executes a requested operation in one of a plurality of operating modes. A monitoring unit monitors an electric power consumed by the execution of the requested operation. Information related to the consumed electric power is stored in a memory unit. A setting unit defines a consumption period and an allowable consumed electric power within the consumption period. A control unit computes a consumed-electric-power log of the consumed electric power monitored at intervals of a predetermined time and a consumed-electric-power total log, and stores consumed-electric-power log related information in the memory unit. When an operation request is received within the consumption period, the control unit controls the execution of the requested operation based on the consumed-electric-power log related information and the allowable consumed electric power.

摘要: In an information distribution apparatus, if an optimum layout of a plurality of printers is calculated and a printer utilization information list is updated, a determination is made for each client to check whether a printer to be used by each client has been changed. Then, if the printer to be used by a client has been changed, the information relating to the client stored in a currently used printer is moved to a newly used printer. Further, notification information relating to the newly used printer (i.e., information including the printer to be used by the client and the print method of the client) is generated for the client and transmitted to the client.

摘要: A networked environment for sharing an image processing load for a rendering job and associated method is disclosed. In one embodiment, the networked environment includes: an image source device, a first image processing device, a network for data communications, and a second image processing device. The second image processing device is spaced apart from the first image processing device. The first image processing device includes a first image processing resource and a rendering resource. The second image processing device includes a second image processing resource. The first image processing device receives a rendering job from the image source device for rendering. The rendering job requires image processing prior to such rendering. A portion of the image processing required for the rendering job is performed by the second image processing resource. The rendering resource renders the rendering job when image processing is complete.

摘要: A distributed printing system that more optimally distributes job requests within a distributed printing system based on more detailed information about the particular attributes of each output device. In particular, additional printer attributes are used that allow greater utilization of a plurality of attached printers having differing capabilities. These attributes include "max-concurrent-jobs-processing" (MCJP), "number-of-jobs-on-device" (NJOD) and "number-of-cascaded-jobs" (NCJ), and a attribute value "saturated" for the attribute "printer-state". The attribute MCJP is an integer value that is based on the capabilities of the printer. NJOB and NCJ attributes allow monitoring of jobs sent to each printer for supported and unsupported printers. If NJOB or NCJ are greater than MCJP, then the attribute "printer-state" is set to "saturated", prohibiting further spooling of print jobs to that particular printer.
