    Abstract: An apparatus and method of counting dispensing events or washes in a fluid dispenser in which an activator is moved from a starting position to a dispensing position and back to dispense material includes a counter which is indexable to record a dispensing event only after dispensing pressure is totally relieved from the activator for a predetermined period of time. The counter is activated by a resilient member which is compressed by the activator but delays its full return to its starting state until compression is totally removed for the predetermined period of time. Only after elapse of this period of time is the counter activated.

    Abstract: Contact lens disinfector unit for sterilizing contact lenses contained within a lens case, wherein the contact lenses are of the type which preferably should be sterilized or disinfected once each day and periodically cleaned after a predetermined number of sterilizing or disinfecting cycles. The heating unit includes a housing in which is disposed a heating block arranged to contact the lens case, and circuit means operatively associated with the heating block and adapted to be coupled to a source of electric potential for utilizing electric current to apply heat to the heating block. The circuit applies the electric current for a sufficient period of time to attain a desired sterilizing temperature within the case, and then terminates the heating cycle allowing the lens case and the contact lenses to cool, thereby completing the overall sterilizing cycle. The disinfector unit includes a cycle indicating arrangement which is responsive to the temperature changes of the heating block for providing a first indication upon reaching the sterilizing temperature and a second indication responsive to the heating block returning to a reduced temperature below the sterilizing temperature. The first indication indicates that the heating block is at an elevated temperature and the second indication indicates the number of sterilizing cycles which have been employed since the contact lenses were last cleaned.

    Abstract: A layer of fruit in random arrangement is passed beneath a row of switch-actuating arms. Each switch serves as an input to a two-stage set-reset flip-flop circuit. A detectable pulse is created by the flip-flop circuit arrangement as a fruit leaves its associated switch-actuating arm providing that the adjacent arms are unactuated, and, consequently, only one pulse will be created for each fruit that passes beneath the row of arms as the last arm thereof drops off of it. The pulse outputs from the various flip-flop circuits are all directed to conventional pulse counting means to give a count of the total number of fruit passing beneath the row of arms.
