摘要： A large volume container and a closure therefor interlock and form a gasketless seal which will withstand a substantial drop of the filled container assembly. A rim portion of the closure provides an annular recess which receives the upper rim of the container, and interlocking members of the rim portion and the rim effect a snap-fit of the closure to the container. A sealing bead projects upwardly of the container rim and a pair of annular sealing flanges depend from the upper end of the recess, and when the rim is received in the recess, the sealing bead extends between, spreads apart and seals with both the inner and outer sealing flanges.

摘要： A package comprising a container and a molded plastic closure. The container neck has external threads formed thereon and an external frustoconical sealing surface formed above said threads and extending upwardly and radially inwardly. The closure comprises a panel and an integral depending annular skirt, the skirt having integral internal threads formed thereon complementary to the threads on the neck of the container. An integral annular side sealing rib extends radially inwardly from the inner surface of the skirt and engages the external frustoconical sealing surface of the container in an interference fit such that when the closure is threaded on the container, the rib is compressed into sealing relation with the external frustoconical sealing surface. The panel portion of the closure includes a portion adapted to engage the end of the neck of the container to form a top seal. The closure includes a flexible annular wall integrally connecting the periphery of the panel and the sealing rib.

摘要： A polypropylene closure for glass containers. The enclosure has a top end wall and a depending annular skirt wall. A substantially rigid V-shaped sealing fin of triangular cross-section projects downwardly from the top end wall to engage the finish of a glass container neck in sealing relation when the closure is applied to the container. The closure is threaded onto the container neck and the sealing fin comes into contact with the finish. The application of additional closure torque causes the sealing fin to deform and be crushed.

摘要： A one piece screw type bottle cap, a method of applying it and a method of molding it. The cap includes an internal sealing skirt having a cylindrical portion that seals against the internal surface of the bottle neck. The skirt flares inwardly and terminates at an outwardly extending collar which is bent upwardly before applying the cap to the bottle neck, and which engages the neck to form an additional seal only after the threads of the cap interengage with the threads of the neck.
