In at least one embodiment, the disclosed containers and container lids provide a liquid-tight seal without the use of gaskets, and can facilitate full submersion of solid items when the container is filled with liquid. For example, in certain embodiments, a container lid includes a brine disc panel with alternating hatched patterns of downward protruding ridges. Thus, in these embodiments, liquids within the container can pass between the protruding ridges (e.g., with the protruding ridges extending downwardly into the liquid) and the protruding ridges may keep solids that tend to float in the liquid below a surface of the liquid.

The cover and/or a container wall region has fitted thereon a tamper-evident sealing element to be removed when opening the container for the first time, which, prior to being removed, blocks deformation of the front wall necessary for changeover between the two bistable states and/or prevents an expansion portion necessary for the snap-fit mechanism, from bringing about alteration to the outer circumference of the cover necessary for deformation of the front wall of the cover between the two bistable states. As an alternative, or in addition, it is also possible for a handle member, necessary for pulling off the cover, to be configured such that it can only be used once the tamper-evident sealing has been successfully removed.

The invention further relates to a method for forming a lid for engagement with a container for food products. According to a first aspect of the invention, a container with a lid comprises a body with a neck (14) surrounding an opening; at least one thread (20) on the neck; at least one thread (16) on the lid for engaging the at least one thread on the neck; and an engagement mechanism (18) on the lid to secure the lid to the body when the lid is in a fully engaged position. Audible and tactile feedback are produced when the lid moves into the fully engaged position.

摘要： A plastic container capable of assuming a loading state, an initially sealed state and an opened state comprises a lid including a lid rim and a base having a base rim. The lid rim sealingly engages with the base rim. A projecting portion has an accordiated section and a pull tab that projects outwardly from the lid. The accordiated section has at least one pleat. The projecting portion includes a frangible bridge. When the plastic food container is in the initially sealed state, the accordiated section has a first length and a first orientation relative to the projecting portion. When the container is in the initially sealed state and a first pulling force is applied to the pull tab, the frangible bridge ruptures. When the frangible bridge ruptures and before the lid is separated from the base, the container is in a tab-employed state in which the accordiated section springs outward and has a second length visibly longer than the first length.

摘要： A lid device for a beverage cup. The lid is a multi-component annular structure with an outer ring of rigid material that attaches to the cup. Inside the outer ring is an inner flexible material, often with a rigid or flexible central structure with an opening for a drinking straw. In an absence of applied force, this opening (and the straw) will be held substantially perpendicular to the top of the central structure and lid. The inner flexible material is selected to deform easily under mild hand pressure (e.g. 5 Newtons or less), and thus when the user applies force to the straw, the inner flexible material distorts and bends allowing the user to more easily move the straw around and mix the contents of the drink.
