    摘要： The machine includes a horizontal support for a plastic bag and a vertically movable heat-sealing head pivoted to the support for upward movement through an aperture in the support to contact the plastic bag. A vertically movable pressure platen having a vacuum head for holding a patch thereon is mounted directly above the heat-sealing head and is adapted to be moved into engagement with the plastic bag so that the patch can be heat-sealed to the bag. A cutter is mounted adjacent the pressure platen for reciprocating movement along an oblique path to intersect the aperture in the support directly beneath the pressure platen to provide a slit in the plastic bag prior to the heat-sealing of the patch on the bag over the slit.

    摘要： An elastomeric cold patch for pavement repair and the method of preparation thereof comprising preparing an elastomeric pavement repair composition from paving grade asphalt and rubber. The asphalt is heated to an elevated temperature and the rubber is combined therewith. The resulting hot composition is mixed to form a hot jelly composition which is formed into a layer. The top surface of the hot layer of the elastomeric composition is dressed with aggregate. Optionally, aggregate can be added into the hot elastomeric composition prior to the formation of the layer. Upon cooling of the layer of hot elastomeric material, an elastomeric cold patch is obtained. Pavements are repaired by cleaning the area of the pavement which is to be repaired, tacking the surface of the pavement and applying the hot elastomeric cold path thereto.

    摘要： A metal patching plate backed with a thin layer of high density foam which is double coated with pressure sensitive adhesive, one adhesive layer serving to bond the foam layer to the plate, while the other is covered with a protective liner. This patching plate is applied over a damaged area in a metal or other surface by first cleaning and otherwise preparing the latter and then stripping away the protective liner from the patching plate and applying the freshly exposed, adhesive-bearing surface of the foam layer over the damaged area. The resulting path is essentially permanent and permits the item of equipment being repaired to remain in service indefinitely.

    摘要： A method of repairing a wooden article having an aperture or hole therein such as a knothole, or the result of routing out a defect in the article. The aperture is filled with a filler composition having a flowable liquid consistency, and which is a mixture of cork particles and resin. Because of the consistency of the filler composition, it flows out through gravity completely to fill the peripheral boundaries of the aperture. Through buoyancy, the cork particles tend to stratify in the repaired region prior to hardening of the filler composition. The cork, being a closed cell material, does not absorb the resin. On hardening, a filler plug is formed having a machinability and other characteristics closely matching that of natural wood.
