摘要： In a drive apparatus for a tape recorder which has a pair of spaced apart selectively driven wheels, for example, of supply and take-up reel bases, respectively, a drive wheel located between the driven wheels and adapted to be selectively rotated in forward and reverse directions by means of an electric motor for effecting rotation of an idler wheel which continuously engages the drive wheel, and a pivotally mounted support arm rotatably carrying the idler wheel and being swingable between a first position where the idler wheel bears against one of the driven wheels for driving the latter from the drive wheel and a second position where the idler wheel bears against the other of the driven wheels for driving such other driven wheel from the drive wheel; a magnetic non-contacting coupling is provided between the idler wheel and the support arm so as to yieldably resist relative rotation thereof and thereby cause reliable swinging of the support arm to its first and second positions in response to rotation of the drive wheel in its forward and reverse directions, respectively.

摘要： In a tape cassette with a housing including top and bottom walls having respective pairs of spaced apart openings aligned with each other, a pair of hubs disposed rotatably within the housing between the walls and being accessible through the respective aligned openings for selectively driving the hubs of the cassette, and a magnetic tape wound on a cylindrical circumferential surface of an outer peripheral portion of each of the hubs; each of the hubs includes an annular rib radially inward from the outer peripheral portion and projecting axially beyond opposite flanks of the outer peripheral portion of the hub so as to extend rotatably around annular flanges directed axially inward from the respective aligned openings of the housing walls, and a pair of lubricating sheets are disposed against the inner surfaces of the housing walls and each have a pair of ridges or beads projecting therefrom and a pair of holes located between the ridges and through which the annular flanges on the adjacent wall extend with the annular rib of each hub engaging flat surface portions located between the holes and ridges of the sheets while the ridges of the lubricating sheets are engageable with the flanks of the outer peripheral portions of the hubs for accurately guiding the wound tape in the axial direction of the hubs.

摘要： The spools of a tape recorder are rotated to wind the tape in one direction or the other using a single motor. A reversible lever carries two friction wheels, one on either side of its pivot, and a band runs round these wheels and a driving pulley on the axis of the motor. The friction wheels are each mounted close to one of the spools. The lever is mounted so that it can pivot on its axis with less friction than there is in the bearings of the friction wheels, so that when the band reverses its direction of movement, the lever pivots to bring a different one of the friction wheels to bear against its respective spool, whereupon that spool is driven by friction between it and the friction wheel.

摘要： A mechanism by which more than one torsion spring can be serially coupled to a member to impart a torque thereto equivalent to that from a single spring having the same number of turns as the total turns of the coupled springs. The springs to be coupled are connected at one end to respective storage shafts which are mounted to a free floating coupling arm. The coupling arm rotates about a shaft coaxial with the member to which the other ends of the springs are attached. In a capstan driven web system having a take-up reel and a supply reel, two sets of serially coupled negator springs are utilized to maintain proper web tension during driving of the web system.

摘要： A drive device for a tape recorder by which the recording tape is drawn off one spool by means of a capstan, and is wound-up on another spool, which is driven over a friction coupling by a motor with a speed not substantially above the highest required winding speed, with a drive device driven by the same motor, the drive device for the purpose of fast rewinding being selectively coupleable on one of the two spools. The two drive gears are arranged on a swingable carrier arm driven continuously in oppsite working directions by a stationarily arranged motor via a belt. By swinging the carrier arm in opposite operating directions out of a neutral center position, the drive gears are coupleable from time to time with one of the spool-carrying winding spindles for fast rewinding. One of the drive gears, which is coaxially seated over a friction clutch, is connected with another drive gear of smaller diameter, the latter in a neutral center position of the carrier arm being able to be brought into engagement with still another drive gear by means of an axial movement of one of these other drive gears, said still another drive gear being coaxially seated on the winding spindle which carries the spool which in the play-operation serves as the winding-up spool.

摘要： A supply spindle for a cassette recorder which includes means for reducing the abrupt start-up forces to which the recording tape within the cassette is subjected by incrementally coupling the inertial mass of the supply spindle to the tape upon start-up. The supply spindle includes a shaft carrying a supply head for engaging a cassette spool. The supply head is axially as well as rotationally movable upon the shaft. A coil spring, fixed to the shaft and supply head, urges the head to the end of the shaft. Additionally, the spring rotatably biases the supply head against a stop carried on the shaft. Initially upon start-up, only a portion of the mass of the supply spindle is coupled to the magnetic tape with the full mass being subsequently coupled thereto.
