The printer's processor extracts that time/date data from the print job transmission and uses that time or automatically set or adjust the time kept by a clock circuit internal to the printer. In this way, the printer's clock circuit consistently provides accurate time/date data that can be used to more efficiently manage the operation of the printer.

The jacket further includes a cable aperture positioned to receive an electrical cable extending from the mechanism and an elongated tube surrounding the cable aperture, and a closed, raised protrusion positioned to cover a release lever extending from the mechanism. The elastic material can be latex rubber or a synthetic plastic.

Upon rotation of the ring in this direction (17), the last-received coins drop into the coin return channel (26). Upon rotation in the opposite direction (18), respectively one coin is received while another coin, exceeding the capacity of the compartment ring (1), drops into the coin overflow channel (27). The conical shape of the inner annular wall (21) prevents that a coin, dropping through the inlet opening (23) into a compartment (3a) and rebounding, projects temporarily into the inlet opening (23) where it could block the coin collection box during the immediately subsequent rotation of the compartment ring. Ribs (34) on the compartment walls (4) prevent sticking of a coin to the walls. By means of ribs (35) at the outlet opening (24), the coins are lifted before they reach this opening, and are thereby detached from the compartment walls (4), if necessary.

    摘要: A string detector for a coin-selecting device in which a switch is conditioned to a first state by a string attached to a coin inserted into the device, and conditioned to a second state by the absence of a string, and a coin validator normally conditioned to a first state, and conditioned to a second state by a valid coin. The switch and coin validator are operatively interconnected for determining the handling of the coin depending upon the states of the switch and the coin validator. More particularly, a start-reset timer is provided having a predetermined time interval in which the timer must be started by a coin conditioning the switch to the said first state and subsequently reset by conditioning the switch to the second state, the timer providing an output when the predetermined time interval is exceeded without having the timer reset as is caused by maintaining the switch in the said first state by the presence of a string attached to the coin. The coin validator provides an output when conditioned to said second state by a valid coin. A sensor senses the output of the timer and coin validator for determining the handling of the coin by the device. The sensor can be a logic circuit that can cause different manners of handling the coin in the device at this stage, depending upon the existence of a timer output.
