Abstract: An electrical box includes a front surface having an opening providing access to a hollow interior of the electrical box, at least one sidewall extending rearwardly from the front surface to form the hollow interior, and a seal disposed on an exterior surface of the at least one sidewall. The seal has a triangular cross-sectional shape including a thin end configured to first enter an opening of a building structure receiving the electrical box therein. A tapered surface of the seal is compressed as the electrical box is received into the opening in the building structure to provide a seal around an exterior surface of the at least one sidewall of the electrical box.

Abstract: An improved installation system for electrical hardware, such as power outlets, electrical switches, light fittings, ceiling fans and the like, whereby the cutting of their installation access holes in drywall panels is accomplished much faster than prior art methods and with a high degree of accuracy by the use of the hole cutting system, comprising the magnetic block assembly, corresponding magnetic template assembly and the hole cutter. In conjunction with the aforementioned; the electrical hardware's associated electrical boxes are wired directly to their electrical supply and the hardware is in turn, electrically connected to them by their respective sets of electrical terminals which make simultaneous contact with each other upon their installation. Additionally, the latching pawl mechanism and alignment device supports the weight of heavy light fittings and ceiling fans and aligns their electrical connections while they're being fixed into their installed position. These features taken together make this improved installation system substantially superior to all prior art.

Abstract: A recessed wall mounting apparatus and method are presented. The invention includes a housing unit coupled with a mounting ring. The housing unit has a base wall with a front side having an outwardly extending perimeter wall from each side of the base wall to form a recessed compartment. The perimeter wall terminates in an outer edge that is configured to be flush with a drywall of an architectural structure. The base wall has an access hole configured substantially in alignment with an accessory window in the mounting ring. The mounting ring is configured for removably mounting an accessory device, e.g. light switch, to the accessory window. One or more removable and adjustable wall brackets are coupled to one or more sides of the housing unit for securing the housing unit to the wall of the architectural structure.

Abstract: Improvements to an electrical junction box is disclosed. The junction box is configured with integrated connections in the back of the junction box. Switches and outlets have tabs in specific locations that align with the desired integrated connections to provide the desired function. All of the outlets and switches align parallel with the back and front of the junction box. The junction box is configurable to accept a single switch, dimmer switch, 3-way or outlet to many more than one function. In addition, the function of a junction box can be easily changed as long as the wiring has been connected to the new junction box. Installation and changes can be made in seconds instead of minutes. The depth of the internal distribution receptacle is adjustable within the adjustable electrical box to accommodate the thickness of the outlet or switch.

Abstract: A module for storing optical fiber at user premises. A fiber supply spool has at least one winding section for storing a length of fiber to be routed at the premises. A spool plate has a base with retaining fingers for mounting the supply spool for rotation, and a hinge pin supported between the ends of two arms extending from the base. An elongated adapter plate is arranged for fastening over an opening cut in a drywall at the premises. The adapter plate includes at least one hinge mount for seating the hinge pin on the spool plate for swiveling movement. The spool plate can swivel on the adapter plate together with the mounted spool between a position where fiber is unwound from the spool for routing at the premises, and a position where the spool with remaining fiber is passed through the opening to be stored behind the drywall.

Abstract: Improvements in a bracket is disclosed for mounting an electrical box onto a mounting bar. An electrical box can be preinstalled onto the bracket and clamped onto the mounting bar using wings. Bendable tabs can be articulated to secure the bracket and onto a rail. Fasteners are used to secure an electrical junction box onto the bracket and an additional fastener secures the sub assembly to the rail. The tabs can be unbent for removal. An installer can secure the bracket and electrical box using a screw and adjust the position of the bracket on the mounting bar. The bracket provides a low profile assemble that allows the bracket to be installed between the inner surfaces of stud walls.
