    Abstract: The present invention is an electrical junction box assembly that may receive a variety of electrical devices such as switches, sockets, dimmers, and such. The junction box assembly includes an outer casing, wherein the wires of incoming and outgoing electrical cables are retained within the outer casing at a set orientation and position. The assembly further comprises an insert that is positionable within the outer casing. The insert contains a plurality of conductive elements arranged as panels. The conductive panels are insulated from one another and have a plurality of ports present on both sides, or that pass through, that allow wires to make contact with a conductive panel. The ports on the side proximal to the wires of the incoming and outgoing electrical cables provide a means to establish an electrical connection between the wiring of these cables with a particular conductive panel. The ports on the side proximal to an electrical device provide a means to establish an electrical connection between the electrical device with a particular conductive panel. Each of the plurality of ports contains a mechanism to ensure an electrical connection between the conductive panel and whatever wiring has been inserted into the port as well as to secure the wiring within the port to resist accidental removal of the wiring.

    Abstract: A hybrid cable distribution system wherein a feeder cable is received by a box. The feeder cable can be a hybrid cable including optical fibers and copper wire (coax). The box may be used only for copper signal handling (such as coaxial signal handling), and then at a later date, the box may be used for receiving fiber signals. Customers can directly connect to the feeder fan out device by connecting a tail of a drop splice module that is spliced to an individual distribution cable to the feeder fan out device. This connection creates a point-to-point connection. The number of fan out devices in the system can be increased or decreased as needed. Alternatively, a splitter input can be connected to the feeder fan out device, such as through a pigtail extending from the splitter, wherein the splitter splits the signal as desired into a plurality of outputs. The outputs of the splitters can be in the form of connectors or adapters. The connectors or adapters are then connected to tails of drop splice modules that are spliced to individual distribution cables so that customers can receive a split signal. The cable distribution system allows for mixing of connection types to the customer(s) such as a direct connection (point-to-point), or a split signal connection. Further, the types of splitters can be mixed and varied as desired. Further, the types of fan out devices can be mixed and varied as desired.

    Abstract: A one-piece injection molded plastic electrical box. The box has an integrated lid which is connected to the body of the box via a living hinge, also formed during the molding process. Four slots on either of four walls allow wires to enter the box from all sides. These openings have doors are designed to bend down, allowing space for the wires to be inserted. Once all wires are placed within the box, the top lid is closed and latched. The bent opening doors act as clamps to secure the wires by applying pressure to the wires as those doors attempt to bend back to their original orientation. This box may be installed without requiring power to be cut off to the splice connection.

    Abstract: Various components and subcomponents of a pluggable modular system for electrical junction boxes are described herein. In various embodiments, a jbox interface chassis is configured to be wired and fastened within an electrical junction box to provide a hot-swappable pluggable interface between the wires in the electrical junction box and each of a plurality of hot-swappable pluggable modular devices. The jbox interface chassis may include a front pluggable interface configured to electrically mate with a corresponding rear pluggable interface on a casing of each pluggable modular device. As an example, the jbox interface chassis may include a plurality of slots or holes to receive a corresponding plurality of blades or pins on the casing of each pluggable modular device. Additionally, device adapters are described herein to convert a wide variety of legacy electrical devices into pluggable modular devices.

    Abstract: A modular electrical outlet assembly includes an enclosure that can be installed in a wall of a room. The enclosure has a plurality of wiring terminals that can each be electrically coupled to electrical wiring in the room. The enclosure has a plurality of output sockets each being integrated therein. Each of the output sockets is in electrical communication with a respective one of the wiring terminals to receive electrical current from the electrical wiring. A module is insertable into the enclosure and the module has a plurality of input terminals that is each integrated therein. Each of the input terminals electrically engages a respective one of the output sockets in the enclosure when the module is inserted into the enclosure to receive electrical current from the electrical wiring in the wall.
