摘要: A device for preserving a predetermined dose of liquid-based substance, notably animal semen or a preservation medium containing embryos or tissue samples, comprises a tube (11) made of a weldable plastics material. The tube allows a service state in which a receiving portion (21) intended to contain the said predetermined dose has a circular cross-section whereas a sealing portion (22) comprises a welded pinch (19) and a transition zone (23). Over at least part of the sealing portion a differentiating edge region (28) gives the external surface of the tube a visual appearance different from the visual appearance of the external surface of the tube outside of the differentiating edge region. A range comprises such a device and a similar device but without the differentiating edge region.

摘要: In accord with the present invention, the fertility quality of an ejaculate can be determined by assaying sperm, in aliquots of the ejaculate or of an ejaculate produced previously by the same male, at intervals over a period of time. Fertility quality is determined by the number of times the level of expression of a marker on the sperm goes through a maximum level of expression during the period of time and if desired by sperm state and fertilization procedure used. The marker should be capable of correlation with the level of Fc receptor (FcR) expression on the sperm. The fertility quality of the ejaculate is related to the number of times a maximum level of expression is reached.

摘要: The present invention relates to methods of and compositions comprising cytokines for, improving the success rate of embryo implantation and the success rate of pregnancy rates in females, by providing an immunopermissive uterine environment prior to insemination or implantation of embryos. The methods of the present invention are used to make the uterus more receptive or less hostile to, for example, transferred embryos, sperm or other allografted tissue.
