    摘要: A telecommunications assembly includes a chassis and a plurality of fiber optic splitter modules mounted within the chassis. Each splitter module includes at least one fiber optic connector. Within an interior of the chassis are positioned at least one fiber optic adapter. Inserting the splitter module through a front opening of the chassis at a mounting location positions the connector of the splitter module for insertion into and mating with the adapter of the chassis. The adapters mounted within the interior of the chassis are integrally formed as part of a removable adapter assembly. A method of mounting a fiber optic splitter module within a telecommunications chassis is also disclosed.

    摘要: Structured beams, Bessel beams, Laguerre Gaussian beams, and focused Gaussian are used as a natural waveguide and its group velocity can be subluminal (slower than the speed of light) as compared to a Gaussian beam in free space. A free space dispersion relation for a Bessel beam, i.e., the dependence of its wavenumber on its angular frequency, is outlined from which the Bessel beam's subliminal group velocity is derived. For reasonable conditions a Bessel light beam has associated parameters that allow slowing near a critical frequency. The application of Bessel beams for a natural optical buffer in free space is presented. Optical transitions and selection rules in materials are altered by structured light carrying orbital angular momentum (OAM). Nano antennas are used to enhance the interactions of structured light.

    摘要: Integrated optical component combine the functions of a Variable Optical Attenuator (VOA), a tap coupler, and a photo-detector, reducing the size, cost, and complexity of these functions. In other embodiments, the integrated optical component combines the functions of an optical switch, a tap coupler, and a photo-detector. A rotatable mirror is used to adjust the coupling of light from an input port or ports to one or more output ports. A pin hole with a surrounding reflective surface is used at the core end face of one or more output fibers, such that a portion of the output optical signal is reflected to a photodiode chip. The photo-detector provides an indication of the optical power that is being coupled to the output fiber. With appropriate electronic control circuitry, the integrated optical component can be used to set the output optical power at a desired or required level.

    摘要: The panoramic-reconstruction temporal imaging (PARTI) system is a single-shot optical waveform measurement apparatus that achieves scalable record length and sub-picosecond resolution simultaneously for ultrafast non-repetitive waveform characterization, in analogy with the wisdom of stitching multiple mosaic images to achieve larger-field-of-view in the spatial domain. It consists of a high-fidelity optical buffer, a low-aberration time magnifier and synchronization-control electronics. For specific measurement circumstances, the PARTI system can also be carried out based on a passive optical buffer, which reduces the system complexity. The PARTI system is configured for real-time single-shot characterization of non-repetitive optical dynamic waveform that evolves over a time scale much larger than that of its ultrafast temporal details, i.e., optical dynamics with large time-bandwidth product.

    摘要: A high power optical fiber laser combiner includes a plurality of input port fibers; an output port fiber including a cladding and a propagating layer, the cladding being used to clad the propagating layer, and the cladding including a micro-nano structure on a surface thereof for removing a residual power in the cladding; and a bundling portion for bundling the input port fibers, and the input port fibers spliced to the output port fiber. The heat effect accumulation of laser power on the cladding can effectively be reduced by the micro-nano structure of the high power optical fiber laser combiner. The tolerant power and bundling power of the optical fiber laser combiner can be raised to increase the output power of the optical laser.
