摘要： A disc cartridge capable of preventing entering of dust into a casing and ensuring a stable and positive operation without damaging a disc while satisfactorily exhibiting a cleaning effect and keeping proper contact between a recording head and the disc. A casing is provided thereon with a slide area which is formed by a slide area defining section of the casing. The slide area is formed with at least one head inserting hole. The slide area defining section is provided on an inner surface thereof with at least one thick-walled portion in a manner to extend along a whole periphery of a portion of the head inserting hole overlapping a sheet-like liner and inwardly project from the inner surface of the casing, so that the liner may be pressed against the disc at a force of a constant level over a wide area of the disc and block a communication between an exterior of the cartridge and its interior through the head inserting hole.

摘要： In apparatus for cleaning magnetic tape, a rotatable cleaning element has hard, sharp-edged inserts embedded in the circumference of a softer carrier structure. The carrier structure is generally cylindrical in shape and has a central hub which has a plurality of radial ribs, on the end of which the inserts are mounted. The ribs, in part, define air flow passages from a vacuum source to the space between the respective inserts. The carrier structure has a hollow, cylindrical skirt underlying the ribs and a cover overlying the ribs. Baffles lie in the space between the inserts to form slits that bracket each insert.

The reader/writer of the present invention may further comprise an optical waveguide holder holding an optical waveguide, which is connected, at a base end thereof, to the light emitting and receiving section of a reading head, so that another end of the optical waveguide may oppose a data recording face of the optical memory card. The waveguide holder is moved independently of the movement of the car holder. The reader/writer apparatus of the present invention may further comprise a regulating member for regulating the angular position of the card. With the arrangement, the reading and writing can be effected accurately with respect to an optical memory card of a high density storage. The apparatus may further include a dust removing device.

摘要： A cleaning apparatus for a record disc comprises a support member having a top side and a bottom side. Locating means is provided for locating the support member relative to the center of a record disc. A knob is mounted on the top side of the support member for rotation about an axis offset from the locating means whereby the support member may be manually rotated about the center of the record disc. A holder for a cleaning pad is mounted on the bottom side of the support member also for rotation about an axis offset from the locating means. A drive mechanism comprising a step-up gear is provided to couple the knob and the pad holder together such that rotation of the knob relative to the support member causes rotation of the pad holder relative to the support member. The knob is hollow and the drive mechanism comprises a circular set of teeth arranged around the internal periphery of the knob coaxially with the axis of rotation of the knob, and a gear wheel fixed relative to the pad holder coaxially with the axis of rotation of the pad holder, the gear wheel being driven by the teeth on the internal periphery of the knob. The cleaning pad has a circular cleaning portion which in use imparts a generally radially cleaning action on the record disc.

摘要： A laminated case for a magnetic disk having a pair of outer laminae and a spacer lamina sandwiched therebetween. The spacer lamina adds rigidity to the laminated case and controls the height of a cavity in which the magnetic disk is located. A liner for wiping the disk is attached to each of the outer laminae. The liner has a free hanging section which provides the wiping action. The three laminae are ultrasonically welded together by a method which employs a fixture and an ultrasonic welding horn. The method permits the magnetic disk to be tested and discarded without sacrificing the laminated case.
