The present steel stock shaping apparatus includes a rolling apparatus which includes a plural set of 3-roll apparatuses disposed along a steel stock transferring direction in series, a precision rolling 3-roll type sizing apparatus 1 which is adapted for shaping, a carbon-material-made guide apparatus 5 which has a guide bore 50 adapted for guiding a sized steel stock "W" to a subsequent process. The inner diameter of the guide bore 50 is set so that it is larger than the outer diameter of the steel stock "W" having a circle cross section by 0.1 to 8 mm, and accordingly the clearance between an inner wall surface 55 of the guide bore 50 and the steel stock "W" is made extremely small. In addition, the axial length of the guide bore 50 is set longer, and accordingly, when a bending at the leading end of the steel stock "W" enters the guide bore 50, the bending is corrected by the inner wall surface 55 of the guide bore 50. As a result, it is possible to relieve or avoid a letter "S" shape bending which occurs when the steel stock "W" is depressed lightly with the 3-roll apparatuses.

A bearing steel having long rolling life comprising, by weight, 0.65 to 0.90% of C, 0.15 to 0.50% of Si, 0.15 to 1.0% of Mn and 2.0 to 5.0% of Cr, and the balance of Fe. Austenite grain size can be prevented from becoming coarser to make hardening in high temperature possible by further adding one or more of 0.0090 to 0.0200% of N, 0.010 to 0.050% of Al and 0.005 to 0.500% of Nb as optional elements to the steel. Further, rolling fatigue life can be improved by further adding one or more of 0.20 to 0.50% of Ni, 0.10 to 2.00% Of Mo and 0.05 to 1.00% of V as optional elements, and machinability can be improved by further adding one or more of 0.02 to 0.05% of S, 0.005 to 0.10% of rare earth elements, 0.02 to 0.30% of Pb, 0.0005 to 0.0100% of Ca, 0.001 to 0.200% of Bi, 0.005 to 0.20% of Se and 0.005 to 0.100% of Te in the steel as optional elements.

Since the mechanical properties are obtained through air cooling, the mechanical properties are stable albeit the size of the forged article and the forging conditions. The non-heat-treating steel is especially suited for use in chassis parts of automobiles and hydraulic parts of construction machines.

An apparatus that gives continuous hydrogen heat treatment to anisotropic rare earth magnet powders is invented. The apparatus a comprises shopper 12, a furnace 11 to carry out a hydrogen heat treatment, a heat compensating means 14 that is placed in the heating room of the furnace to keep the treatment temperature constant, a movable stopper 15 to support the material in the heating room of the furnace 11 and a cooling container 18. The raw magnet powder is fed into the furnace 11 and supported by the stopper 15, then hydrogen heat treatment is carried out. After the treatment the stopper opens the bottom end of the heating room and the processed magnet powder falls into the cooling room. By the operation described above, the present apparatus can carry out continuous hydrogen heat treatment without stopping the heating of the furnace batch by batch. Continuous hydrogen heat treatment greatly improves the production efficiency and quality of the processed magnet powder.
