    摘要: An ultraviolet (UV) liquid treatment apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus may include a conduit having an inlet to receive liquid to be treated and an outlet to discharge treated fluid, the conduit defining a plurality of liquid flow paths between the inlet and the outlet. The apparatus may further include an UV light emitting diode (LED) module array to illuminate the liquid, wherein the UV LED module array comprises a plurality of UV LED modules arranged on a curved surface of an array holder, such the UV LED module array is configured to generate a customized spatial light flux distribution within the conduit that matches the liquid flow paths so as to obtain a desired UV dose distribution.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method for disinfecting and purifying liquids and gasses comprising; a) passing said liquids or gasses through a reactor or a combination of reactors, having a truncated compounded concentrator geometry; and b) simultaneously delivering and concentrating diversified electromagnetic and acoustic energies into a specific predetermined inner space of said compounded concentrator reactor, forming a high energy density zone in said reactor or reactors over a predetermined period of time. The reactor according to the present invention is preferably a compounded parabolic concentrator or a compounded ellipsoidal concentrator. The electromagnetic energy delivered and concentrated into and inside the reactor can be of any range of the electromagnetic spectrum, such as ultra-violet, visible, infra-red, microwave etc., or combination thereof. The acoustic energy is of any suitable frequency. The radiation source delivering the electromagnetic radiation can be enclosed within the reactor or can be external to the reactor.

Methods include inactivating specified pathogens using UV (ultraviolet) radiation, exposing invertebrates grown or to be grown in aquaculture to the specified UV-inactivated pathogens to enhance an immune reaction of the exposed invertebrates toward the specified pathogens, and growing the exposed invertebrates in aquaculture. For example, the methods were demonstrated to increase the immune response of oysters to ostreid herpesvirus 1 (OsHV-1) following their prior exposure to UV-inactivated OsHV-1.

The walls of the conduit may be coated with a reflective coating acting as a back-surface mirror for enhancing the performance of the disinfection system.
