摘要: An inkjet printer includes a head including a nozzle configured to eject pigment ink supplied from a tank during a print operation and during a purge operation and a purge mechanism. A controller configured to determine whether to control the purge mechanism to perform the purge operation for discharging the pigment ink from the nozzle and, when determining to control the purge mechanism to perform the purge operation, determine a remaining amount of the pigment ink remaining in the tank. The controller is configured to determine a discharge amount to be discharged from the nozzle when performing the purge operation based on the remaining amount of the pigment ink remaining in the tank and control the purge mechanism to perform the purge operation based on the discharge amount.

摘要: A processor of a print device performs empty processing in a case where it has determined that it has received, from a remaining ink amount detector, a first signal that indicates that a remaining amount of an ink is not greater than a first prescribed amount. The processor also performs the empty processing in a case where it has not determined that it has received the first signal, but has determined that it has received a second signal. In the empty processing, the processor performs soak cleaning of a nozzle face and stores an empty soak standby flag in an EEPROM. The empty soak standby flag is a flag that prohibits the performing of a printing operation. Therefore, the print device is able to reduce the possibility that a decline in print quality will occur.

摘要: A sheet conveying apparatus includes a conveying roller, a pinch roller, a holding member, and a pressing device. The pinch roller includes a roller shaft and a roller body rotatable relative to the roller shaft. The roller shaft includes a first end portion and a second end portion. The holding member holds the roller shaft movably in a first direction. The pressing device presses the roller shaft in a pressing direction such that the roller body is pressed against a peripheral surface of the conveying roller. The first end portion of the roller shaft has a first contact surface being a planar surface. The second end portion of the roller shaft has a second contact surface being a planar surface. The roller shaft is disposed such that the first contact surface and the second contact surface are oriented in the pressing direction.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an interface unit which receives print data and file data; a printing unit which prints an image on a recording medium; a writing unit which stores tag data in a non-contact type tag when the recording medium provides the non-contact type tag; a buffer unit in which file data is stored in the non-contact type tag; and a control unit which controls the printing unit and the writing unit. The control unit stores the file data in the buffer unit when the file data is received. The control unit controls the printing unit to form an image on the recording medium based upon content of the print data when the print data is received. The control unit controls the writing unit to store the file data stored in the buffer unit in the non-contact type tag.

摘要: A printing apparatus is capable of detecting the end of an ink ribbon and verifying normal mounting of a ribbon cassette. When a portion of ink ribbon sufficient for printing one character is transported, an actuator in the ribbon cassette is rotated by a predetermined amount. The rotating actuator turns on and off a switch. The number of times the switch status is changed is detected. Determining the switch ON-OFF count makes it possible to detect the ink ribbon end and to check for any abnormal winding operation of the ink ribbon. Thus a single switch arrangement permits detection of both the ink ribbon end and an abnormal ink ribbon winding operation that may occur.
