摘要: A method and apparatus are disclosed in which a first UE (User Equipment) receives signals from one or more MNO base stations. The UE synchronizes with the MNO base station timing. The first UE then communicates with a second UE over a wireless side-haul, providing the second UE with timing information derived from the MNO base station. By using the wireless side-haul, a relatively short GPIO (General Purpose Input/Output) connection over a wireline can be used to communicate the timing information from the second UE to a PTP GM (Precision Timing Protocol Grand Master). The second UE may be integrated into a cell of a communications network that contains the PTP GM. Accordingly, using the side-haul to communicate the timing information avoids cabling to a master cell.

When the UE is camped on an EHPLMN, the UE may search/scan for higher priority EHPLMNs using the HPPLMN timer setting values associated with the entries on the list that have higher priority than the current EHPLMN. The rate of the scans may be set based on the shortest HPPLMN timer entry of the higher priority entries on the EHPLMN list. The UE may also or instead be configured to search for geofenced EHPLMNs on the list for which entrance criteria are currently satisfied, even when the current EHPLMN has higher priority than the geofenced EHPLMNs.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for autoconfiguring microslices in enterprise wireless communication networks using a microslice knowledgebase in a remotely located orchestration platform. Microslices are independent end-to-end logical networks operating on a shared physical infrastructure, which ensure certain Quality of Service (QoS) and Service Level Objective (SLO) requirements are met for different service types or applications. Any of the enterprise networks may be a Citizen's Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) system. A microslice knowledgebase unit in the orchestration platform configures microslices for the enterprise networks based upon communication requirements of applications, devices, and groups of devices such as service type, bandwidth requirements, using machine learning and artificial intelligence to learn communication requirements of each enterprise deployment. The microslice configuration unit in the knowledgebase may develop microslice templates based upon enterprise type, which can be used to better make recommendations to enterprise networks during initial deployment and afterwards.

摘要: A low power, automated method and apparatus to determine when user equipment (UE) is near a private network that resides within the coverage area of an MNO network. Upon determining that the UE is near a private network, such as an enterprise network (EN), the UE may request a handover to an enterprise base station/access point (BS/AP), or otherwise transition to attach to the EN BS/AP. In addition, during the deployment of EN, information is stored in a cloud server. A smooth and low power determination that a UE that is authorized to attain service from the private network enables a transition from an MNO network to the private network.

The disclosed method and apparatus assists emergency personal determine the position of an EPE in an enterprise network and respond to an emergency. EPE location tracking in accordance with the disclosed method is initiated without requiring public emergency calling procedures. Therefore, the method does not involve talking to the PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) and typically does not require a real person to call. If individuals make an emergency call, such calls are be handled independently of the positioning procedure of the disclosed method.

摘要: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for determining spectrum availability within a radio band managed by a Spectrum Management Entity (SME), and allocating available spectrum to Base Station/Access Points (BS/APs) of an Enterprise Network (EN). The EN includes a domain proxy that sends a registration request to the SME indicating a maximum EIRP for the BS/APs. After receiving registration, the Domain Proxy sends a spectrum inquiry and receives a response specifying available spectrum. If less than the entire requested spectrum is available, then the maximum EIRP indication is reduced, and a next iteration is performed re-registering the BS/APs and requesting spectrum. Iterations are repeated until the entire requested spectrum is available, and then spectrum is allocated to the BS/APs. Each iteration of channel availability is stored, and channels are allocated utilizing a Self-Organizing Network (SON) technique responsive to the stored channel availability. The EN may comprise a CBRS Network.
